WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB? Part time: Saturday job at Books Cookshop. Full time:

HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE CLEANING INDUSTRY? I actually went to interview for another job but then they


called me back in and said that I might be suitable for a position at Brightwell Dispensers.

WHICH THREE WORDS DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY?


Fun, loyal, stubborn.


IF YOU COULD VISIT ONE PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO AND WHY?


The Lake District. As kids, we walked every length and breadth of it with our dog Robbie and my mum and dad. Now, as an adult, I pack my backpack, pick a fell and route, get in the car, park up, put my boots on and start hiking.

Know your industry and your product inside and out, and network.

Family first, buy land and a farm second. Beyond that, no idea, but I will be sure to update you when it happens.

BE AND WHY? Dario Argento, because I’m a fan and have a LOT of questions for him; Buster Bloodvessel because the best nights of my life have been at Bad Manners’ gigs; and my dad, because I only got to spend 45 years with him and that will never be enough.


WHAT, DO YOU THINK, IS THE FUTURE OF THE CLEANING INDUSTRY?


Sustainability and continued development and use of eco- friendly products and methods. We all have a part to play.

HOW CAN THE CLEANING INDUSTRY HELP TO MAKE THE UK A SAFER, MORE HYGIENIC


PLACE IN 2021? As someone who used to spend a lot of time on the road, I was always astonished by the amount of people that failed to wash their hands in the washrooms. Whilst the focus has seemingly shifted to face masks and the vaccine, we cannot underestimate how the simple task of cleaning our hands can help prevent the transmission of germs. If we can’t educate or encourage people to do this then we must look at other ways with the inclusion of IoT systems and smart technology to make this become a requirement when entering buildings and exiting washrooms.

It’s reassuring to know that the cleaning industry now has a voice in parliament but I would still like to see an
