Fourstones Paper Mill is one of the United Kingdom’s largest independent paper-making organisations, specialising in recycled papers.
While our rich history dates back to 1763, over the last 30 years we have refined our award-winning tissue manufacturing operations, whilst investing in state- of-the-art converting capacity to provide high quality paper disposables. We pride ourselves on integrity and maintaining strong and lasting relationships, giving us a reliable and supportive reputation within the UK’s paper and disposables industry.
As a passionate recycled paper manufacturer, we have vertically integrated our supply chain with our converting operations, providing full transparency, affordability, and competitive lead times. More importantly for modern consumers, our vertical integration reduces reliance on transportation and other emissions associated with importing paper and paper products into the country.
It’s important for paper manufacturers to be open about the environmental impact caused by our industry. We don’t consider sustainability to be just a ‘buzzword’ to be exploited, and will not use clever marketing to deflect anything. Instead, we act to improve what we can with the aim of supplying current needs without damaging effects to the lives of our loved ones or ecosystem in the future.
Fourstones’ own annual generation of renewable energy currently produces more than a village’s requirements, whilst our latest combined heat and energy plant vastly increases our energy efficiencies, reducing our overall additional energy needs.
We take the environment and ethics seriously. To emphasise this, we have recently become a proud FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) member, allowing us to highlight the transparent and ethical sourcing of raw

materials, including recycled paper, used in our products. We are currently working to ensure all our products are labelled as FSC accredited in 2021.
Our FSC status was obtained easily thanks to our high standards using ISO 9001:2015 certified procedures, and complete honesty about our product specifications as a long-standing Soft Tissue Accredited Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) member.
These efforts are undertaken to establish our reputation as aspirational within our industry, and have only been achievable through our skilled and motivated team of industry veterans. As the business landscape changes from recent global events, our dedicated approach to relationships has allowed us to respond to our customer needs swiftly and with real decisions made by people, not algorithms. We’re serious about maintaining relationships and will continue to invest in providing excellent personal service that exceeds modern expectations.
