Low VOC formulations Since 1997, the Association for the Control of Emissions in Building Materials (GEV), certifies low-emission construction products with the quality mark GEV EMICODE. Bona lacquers were the first in the industry to be awarded the EMICODE EC1 trademark. Bona’s reactive silane adhesives also carry this important classification. All adhesives and surface treatments used in new installations in Germany have to meet the stringent DIBt standard that governs the safety of indoor air quality. Most Bona adhesives and coatings also meet this certification.
Indoor air quality Bona lacquers, primers and retail cleaning products are GREENGUARD certified.
The globally-recognised GREENGUARD Certification is part of UL Environment, a business unit of UL (Underwriters Laboratories). GREENGUARD Certification helps manufacturers create, and buyers identify, interior products and materials that have low chemical emissions, improving the quality of the air in which the products are used.
