FLOORING IN T As the industry gets ready for the Flooring Show, from 16-18 September at Harrogate
This is where flooring in all its forms takes the starring role. The Flooring Shows is widely recognised as the UK’s National Flooring Event, and this year marks its 56th edition. The event delivers a great overview of what’s new, who’s new and some great networking opportunities across the industry – from contractors and fitters, to flooring retailers and interior designers.
More than 260 brands will attend the show and of those over 50 are new to the event. With this many brands and exhibitors under one roof, all keen to do business and covering every type of flooring, flooring products and tools, a visit is worthwhile investment of time for anyone in the industry. “The show always plays host to some major new product launches from key UK and European suppliers and meeting the people behind the brands and understanding the products makes specifying so much easier – it means you can be confident in your choices when it really matters,” says event manager Kane Thomas of Ocean Media Group, which bought the show last year.
NEW THIS YEAR! SPOT THE TRENDS....
On the morning of Tuesday 18 September, the show will be hosting a special networking event for interior designers to meet the flooring designers from key exhibiting companies. It’s a perfect opportunity to hear what new flooring developments are underway from the teams who are creating them. This event is supported by the SBID, but non-members are welcome to attend. If you are interested in attending this event, please contact
vanessa@theflooringshow.com or call 01666 824624.
In addition, visitors will be able to book a free, 30-minute, guided Trend Briefing at the show. Led by Laura Greenwood of specialist interior design trend forecasters Scarlet Opus, each session will give a quick overview of which key global consumer and design trends will affect the flooring market the coming months and in 2019.
THE LATEST TECHNICAL AND
PRODUCT UPDATES Once again, the Flooring Industry Training Association (FITA), supported by the Carpet Fitters Association (CFA) and National Institute of Carpet and Floorlayers (NICF) has put together two great programmes of live demonstrations. Demo Zone 1 in Hall B will focus on Subfloor and Tools whilst in Hall C, Zone 2 will cover Floor Finishes.
Meanwhile don’t forget that six finalists will be battling it out to become Carpet Fitter of the Year over in the Kings Suite. They will be put to the test under the watchful eyes of NICF judges Ian James, Richard Renouf and Jeff Hardy, with the winner being declared at 4.30pm on Monday.
