KARNDEAN DESIGNFLOORING GETS INTO THE SWING OF FUNDRAISING WITH A

CHARITY GOLF DAY Staff from Evesham-based Karndean Designflooring, have raised £11,000 in support of three charities as part of its annual charity golf day at Hilton Puckrup Hall Hotel, Tewkesbury.

After the success of previous golf days, Karndean decided once again to host the event this year, and to split the money raised between Breast Cancer Now, Mentor Link and Evesham Adventure playground. The latter two charities are both local to Evesham.

The charity golf day also featured a raffle and an auction, with prizes

Sam Dawson, manager of Evesham Adventure Playground, commented: “All of us at the Adventure Playground are extremely grateful for Karndean’s support. The funds that have been raised will make a big difference in helping to keep all our activities running to a high standard, and we can see from our visitor’s faces that the playground has a real positive impact on their family life and general wellbeing. I’d like to say a huge thank you to all at Karndean for their contribution.”

Paul Barratt, Managing Director of Karndean Designflooring, said: “We chose these three charities because they are all doing vital work, improving and potentially saving lives, so the golf day was the perfect opportunity to support their causes and recognise their hard work. We appreciate the time and immense effort that went into organising this event, and I extend my thanks to all who made it such a success.”

FATHER-AND-SON TEAM SOLVES THE VINYL CODE

Tomorrow’s Contract Floors and Tomorrow’s Retail Floors magazines are delighted to announce the winner of the #TomorrowsComp treasure hunt that we held at The Flooring Show in Harrogate last month.

With a little help from his young son, Paul Easby found all five stickers hidden around the Harrogate Convention Centre. Paul and 11-year- old Matthew worked out that the stickers spelled out the word vinyl. They then tweeted us the answer to win a £50 M&S voucher.

Paul said: “Matthew was on his annual free pen hunt and it’s a good job I had him with me to spot all of the letters. I never usually win anything.”

A third generation flooring contractor, Paul runs north-east based Easby Flooring with his father Stuart. The company was founded in 1976 by Paul’s grandfather Les Easby and now covers the whole of the UK, with a customer portfolio including The Range, MOD, Homebase and Local Authorities.
