RESIN FLOORING
LASTING IMPRESSION
Flowcrete talks us through a recent project where the company delivered seamless flooring for IKEA’s Oxford Street flagship store – with a pawprint of personality.
At Flowcrete, we pride ourselves on delivering flooring solutions that perform under pressure – and few projects exemplify this better than our work on IKEA’s new flagship store on Oxford Street, London.
Opened in May 2025, this landmark retail space spans approximately 8,000m² and demanded a flooring system that could meet the brand’s high standards for durability, aesthetics, and speed of installation. With thousands of visitors expected daily, the challenge was clear: deliver a robust, attractive, and fast-track flooring solution that could keep pace with the demands of central London retail.
TAILORED SYSTEMS FOR A MULTI-ZONE RETAIL ENVIRONMENT
Working alongside The Progressive Group, our trusted installation partner, we supplied a fully integrated flooring package that met the project’s technical and programme requirements.
Isocrete Ultimate K Screed was installed across 8,000m², providing a fast-drying, high-strength base layer that allowed early access for follow-on trades – critical for maintaining the tight construction schedule.
Peran STB Classic, our decorative and durable resin finish, was applied across 7,500m² of public-facing areas. Its excellent abrasion resistance and sleek finish made it the ideal choice for IKEA’s high-footfall retail zones.
In the kitchen and food prep areas, Flowfresh HF LT was used across 200m². This heavy-duty polyurethane system is HACCP International certified, offering superior hygiene performance, chemical resistance, and thermal shock protection.
KEEPING THE PROJECT ON TRACK
Thanks to the rapid-curing properties of Ultimate K Screed and the seamless compatibility of our resin systems, the flooring

installation was completed with minimal disruption to the overall build schedule. The Progressive Group’s expert handling ensured that every zone was delivered to spec, on time, and ready for the grand opening.
But beyond the technical success, this project also came with a memorable twist.
A FOX WITH A FLAIR FOR FLOORING
During the night shifts, a curious fox became a regular visitor to the site. Each evening, it would wander through the freshly laid screed and resin, leaving behind tiny paw prints. Rather than remove them, the team decided to preserve these markings as a light-hearted tribute to the store’s journey. Today, those paw prints remain embedded in the floor – a subtle, charming reminder of the unexpected moments that make every project unique.
WHY FLOWCRETE?
• Speed Meets Strength: Our fast-drying screed helped the project meet critical milestones, enabling early access and reducing downtime.
• Built for High Footfall: The resin systems were designed to withstand the intense daily traffic of Oxford Street, ensuring long-term durability and easy maintenance.
• One Complete System: By supplying fully compatible screed and resin solutions, we delivered a cohesive flooring system that performed flawlessly across all areas.
At Flowcrete, we understand that every project tells a story. For IKEA Oxford Street, that story includes high-performance flooring, expert collaboration, and even a fox with a taste for retail. We’re proud to have played a part in bringing this flagship store to life – and to have left a lasting impression, paw prints and all.
