Hello and welcome to the May issue of Tomorrow’s Contract Floors.
Excitement is building across the contract flooring industry as a busy events season gets underway this May. Three major dates for the diary, Flanders
Flooring Days, Clerkenwell Design Week and Warsaw Floor Expo, are set to showcase the latest products, ideas and innovations shaping the sector.
The momentum follows a successful first-ever edition of The Flooring Show South in April, where it was great to see such a strong turnout of exhibitors and visitors. Feedback from across the show floor was overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting both the quality of conversations and the volume of business taking place. It’s clear the event has quickly established itself as a must-attend fixture in the industry calendar, setting the tone for an exciting few months ahead.
From the open-house showroom experiences and manufacturer showcases in Belgium, to the design-led energy of Clerkenwell’s festival atmosphere, and the growing international reach of Warsaw’s dedicated flooring exhibition, each event offers something unique. Together, they highlight the creativity, technical expertise and collaboration driving the industry forward. In this issue, we preview what to expect – particularly in our

spotlight on Warsaw Floor Expo and our dedicated look ahead to Clerkenwell Design Week.
Alongside our event coverage, this month’s issue is packed with insight and inspiration. We feature a range of standout projects, including our Makeover of the Month: a dementia- care refurbishment using specialist Altro system, alongside a hospitality scheme where Havwoods’ natural wood surfaces help create a calm, welcoming environment. We also highlight how IVC Commercial flooring is supporting inclusive initiatives through Whitbread’s Thrive programme.
Elsewhere, the focus turns to practicality, with F. Ball’s expert insight into subfloor preparation for heavy-duty industrial environments, as well as guidance from Wagner Meters on moisture management and data recording to help prevent flooring failure.
As the industry comes together at these key events, May promises valuable connections and a renewed focus on innovation across contract flooring.
I hope you enjoy the issue.
