BEAUFLOR EXPANDS SOCIAL HOUSING FLOORING OPTIONS

With a collection of 16 stylish wood plank designs, as well as the option for modern concrete, Polaris is a cushion vinyl floor that brings durability and quality to general and private accommodation areas in social housing. Designed and made in Belgium by Beauflor, this collection is a high-quality response to the need for affordable flooring.

All Polaris designs feature Beauflor’s Natural Look texture and matt finish for a great looking floor. With trending grey woods such as Monterey Oak and Fumed Oak, as well as warming wood tones like Cameo, Natural Oak and Lime Oak, rooms can enjoy a home-like floor that has all the practical advantages of cushion vinyl flooring.

Impervious to water, easy to clean using normal household cleaners and with a durable wear layer (0.35mm) that’s protected with Premium Coating for better resistance to scratches and stains; Polaris is easy for tenants to live with. These factors also help to provide a lasting floor finish (classes 23/32/41) that can overcome concerns about the ongoing cost of providing floorcoverings in domestic areas. Polaris is also R10 rated for slip resistance providing assurance underfoot and meets Bfl-s1 standard for resistance to fire.

Thanks to its Waffle Bac backing, Polaris is fast to install and can be loose laid in most domestic areas (up to 20m²). For larger spaces, the floor can be installed with double-sided adhesive tape, making installation easier throughout all areas of social housing. This glue-free installation also helps to make replacement simpler as the floor can simply be uplifted and a new one quickly laid in its place.

WATERPROOF WOOD FOR LIFE WITH UNILIN

Natural wood is a favourite choice for high specification housing and with Quick-Step wood flooring from Unilin Flooring, projects can benefit from a lasting and easy-to-maintain wood floor. Unlike other engineered wood floors and solid wood, Quick- Step is waterproof and features Wood for Life. Wood for Life is a unique innovation that prevents the build-up of dirt and water marks in the grain and joints so that the floor retains its ‘as new’ appearance. With scratch resistance, Wood for Life makes the floor easier to maintain and helps to extend its life.

Thanks to a special coating that works to repel water, Quick-Step wood is also waterproof. Water can stay on the surface for 72 hours without causing damage or seeping through the joints. This means that Quick-Step wood floors can be used throughout all private areas, including bathrooms and kitchens.

For housing and other commercial projects, Unilin Flooring offers the Faro and Faro Herringbone collections. Faro is a wide and long plank (1820 x 220mm) that elevates interiors in six natural oak finishes. Faro Herringbone comes in a versatile 580 x 145mm herringbone plank, again in six oak finishes. Both floors are designed for floating installation and come with Quick-Step’s Uniclic Multifit joint for secure, glueless installation.

Thanks to the durability and appearance retention of Wood for Life, Quick-Step is able to use a thin layer of PEFC traceable oak that helps to reduce its use of slow-growing timber. The core uses fast growing species such as spruce, or HDF made of recovered wood

(from sawmills, forest management and roadside maintenance). Quick-Step wood flooring is available with a third-party verified EPD (EPD-UNI-20230478-IBC1-EN).
