FORBO REFRESHES TESSERA CHROMA WITH ENHANCED ECO CREDENTIALS
Originally created to meet new workspace design scheme demands, Tessera Chroma was renowned for its contemporary aesthetic. Now, Forbo has updated this collection, not only refreshing its colour palette but also improving its sustainability credentials, with an impressive >80% reduction in embodied carbon.
Curated to complement workspace design trends, Tessera Chroma is a textured loop pile carpet tile collection with sophisticated and trend-led colours. The latest updates to the range see it join Tessera Topology, Tessera Create Space and Tessera Twine in Forbo’s new Evolve+ series, offering enhanced sustainability.
With an >80% reduction in embodied carbon and the highest percentage of recycled content of any Tessera carpet tile with 77% recycled content by weight, Tessera Chroma is now manufactured with 100% ECONYL regenerated polyamide 6 solution dyed yarn. This change in yarn system combined with Forbo’s lean production processes has resulted in an embodied carbon of less than 2kg CO2 per square metre eqv. (A1-A3) – achieved without offsetting. Tessera Chroma and all Tessera carpet tiles are manufactured using 100% renewable energy (electricity and biogas).
As well as improving its environmental credentials, Forbo has also refreshed and refined the designs, with 24 colourways now available. Ranging from grey and stone shades like Chanterelle, to brighter accent colours, such as Honeysuckle, all colourways can easily be combined and coordinated with other existing Forbo floor coverings for integrated design schemes.
FAST AND CLEAN INSTALLS WITH FLEX PRO PURE
Flex Pro Pure is the improved self-adhesive underlay from Unilin Flooring that makes it fast and easy to install Moduleo dryback luxury vinyl floors.
For large scale projects, such as BTR, private housing developments, student accommodation and more, speeding up floorcovering installation provides significant time and cost-saving benefits. For popular luxury vinyl floorcoverings such as those in the Moduleo brand by Unilin Flooring, correct subfloor preparation and waiting times for adhesives to cure fully lengthen the time required to achieve a high-quality floorcovering installation.
However, with Unilin Flooring’s improved Flex Pro Pure self- adhesive underlay, flooring contractors can achieve a high-quality installation while reducing subfloor finishing (the underlay can accommodate irregularities of no more than +/-3mm) and completely eliminating adhesives. Flex Pro Pure saves the cost of flooring adhesives and subfloor finishing and is twice as fast as conventional dryback installation methods.
For installations using more complex plank or tile arrangements, such as herringbone or the multi-shape tiles of Moduleo’s Moods collection, Flex Pro Pure also allows for easy corrections with pieces simply lifted and repositioned. This is also advantageous if areas become damaged as planks or tiles can be quickly and easily replaced without disruption.
One of the biggest benefits of using Flex Pro Pure is in the ability of the underlay to allow for easy removal of the floor at end of life. Pieces can be quickly lifted from the underlay, the underlay

removed and new Flex Pro Pure laid down. This method is also more favourable than traditional dryback installation as it produces a cleaner flooring removal that is easier to downcycle into street furniture through Unilin Flooring’s UK-based Recover programme.
