HOT OFF THE PRESS Natural stone and terrazzo specialist Diespeker & Co has launched a new company magazine, a mere 88 years after its last major publication was released to the public.

Deliberately eschewing a corporate brochure style, Diespeker has instead created a glossy 50-page publication that gives a fascinating insight into the company’s remarkable journey over the past few years.

The beautifully produced, high quality magazine is crammed with enlivening content and images, featuring ground- breaking projects in retail, hospitality and residential locations; up and coming designers Diespeker has collaborated with; and ongoing aims for sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

There is also an update on the exploits of Diespeker’s marathon-mad MD, John Krause, who recently completed a landmark total of 300 park runs and 150 marathons.

Within the magazine’s pages a medley of Diespeker’s quality terrazzo, marble, granite and quartz samples are showcased, including the new fast track

A TRAINER’S PERSPECTIVE An experienced trainer and assessor at the Academy for Excellence in Flooring has shared his insight into the course, having undergone the Master Installer programme himself.

David Bacchus attended a training course at the Academy back in the summer of 2012, and quickly recognised the benefits that the Master Installer programme could bring his business.

David said: “With three days of installing in a six-metre bay with every obstacle imaginable, the course tested my skills to the limit, attempting perfection in expansion gaps and cutting laminate to within two-millimetres around toilet pans.

“The course really demonstrated what I could achieve with focus and clarity, even taking onboard the importance of setting-out to discover where all my cuts would be proved invaluable.”

John Krause said: “Everyone who worked on the magazine is rightly proud of the final product.

“We believe it shows our ability to think outside the box not just for our work with terrazzo and natural stone, but also in the way we present

the company. It’s the must-read magazine of the moment for designers, architects and developers.”

Copies of the limited edition printed magazine can be requested by visiting Diespeker’s website, where there is also the facility to download an online PDF version.

We see two main types of installer; sole traders or small companies with one or two staff and larger subcontractors that have contracts with local retailers or DIY chains.

David continued: “People of all ages come to take part in the Master

“I enjoy my role immensely but never forget my origins at the Academy some six-years ago, when I was certainly put through my paces. Even with my role as a trainer and assessor, I strive to keep up my levels and still wear the Master Installer badge with pride.”
