ELEARNING CARE CERTIFICATE PACKAGE by iHASCO

iHASCO has created a complete eLearning package to cover the theory for those who are working towards their care certificate, with 15 separate, concise and engaging courses.

This online training plays a vital role in helping anyone who is starting out in the care sector to learn about the 15 standards of care. They also provide a great refresher for experienced workers, because it’s vital that everyone who works in this industry provides top-quality care.

The full 15 courses took eight months to create and produce, requiring 10 locations, 25 actors and 45 extras. The high-quality footage and carefully-written scripts have been designed to communicate the key learning points simply and effectively.

iHASCO are also a Skills-for-Care-endorsed Learning and Development provider, so users can have confidence in the content and quality of these courses. The courses can be completed online in under eight hours, but at the learner’s own pace and convenience. Course titles as part of the eLearning Care Certificate package include Basic Life Support, Duty of Care, Fluids & Nutrition and Infection Prevention & Control. It is easy to monitor training: for the employer, through the LMS, and the employee through their own training suite, to keep track of completed and outstanding training.

Lottie Galvin, Studio Manager at iHASCO, said: “We are proud to offer a 15-part eLearning package for those in the health and social care sector, who are working towards completing their Care Certificate.

“With the current climate throwing so many challenges at those who work in the care industry, we understand that training may not always feel like a priority. But eLearning is a simple and time-efficient solution that can strengthen a worker’s confidence and competence, whilst making sure that their training stays up-to-date.”

EXEMPLAR HEALTH CARE

Exemplar Health Care is a leading provider of specialist nursing care for adults living with a range of complex and high acuity needs. The organisation has over 30 homes across Yorkshire, the Midlands, North East and North West, which provide person-centred care and rehabilitation in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Exemplar Health Care has shown great resilience throughout these challenging times and has found that taking a holistic approach towards supporting colleague mental health and wellbeing has been key.

While working in care is extremely rewarding, in these difficult times, key workers have faced additional challenges which have undoubtedly placed a strain on their mental health. Supporting colleague mental health is important as this can reduce sickness absence, improve continuity of care for residents, and improve quality of care as colleagues become more motivated and engaged.

Exemplar Health Care offers regular mental health awareness training to all colleagues, so that they can recognise the signs of mental illness and how to offer support to each other. The business also provides access to an Employee Assistance Programme, where colleagues can access trained counsellors and advisors 24/7.

Its health and wellbeing strategy includes a range of initiatives to support colleague mental health and wellbeing at work, including a 33-strong team of Mental Health First Aiders.

All homes and central offices have access to a Mental Health First Aider who is trained to offer mental health advice and support, which includes being there to listen and signposting to appropriate help. Over the past year, the Mental Health First Aiders have supported over 250 colleagues through their role, as well as providing informal advice to many more in their workplace.
