PLAYLIST FOR LIFE
Playlist for Life is a UK music and dementia charity. The charity was founded in 2013 by writer and broadcaster Sally Magnusson after the death of her mother, Mamie, who had dementia. The charity’s vision is simple: they want everyone with dementia to have a unique, personal playlist and everyone who loves or cares for them to know how to use it.
Over two decades of scientific research has shown that listening to a personal playlist can improve the lives of those living with dementia. In fact, listening to music that is personally meaningful has many psychological benefits, enabling anyone to benefit from a playlist.
Playlist for Life harnesses the powerful effects of personal music to help anyone who is affected by dementia as well as their families and carers. Since 2015, they have trained over 6,000 health and social care professionals, enabling them to integrate playlists into their care. They have continued to support those affected by dementia throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and are now bringing their specialised training online for those in care homes, home care services and the NHS.

PURELL ADVANCED HYGIENIC HAND RUB by GOJO
Improving hand hygiene performance is one of the most effective ways to lower the risk of infection outbreaks in care settings and, this year, it has proved critical in the battle against coronavirus.
Widely used in the NHS, PURELL Advanced Hygienic Hand Rub is clinically proven to kill 99.99% of the most common germs that may be harmful, including Coronavirus, whilst also maintaining skin health.
Its efficacy has been proven through independent scientific testing and it conforms to key hospital norms EN 1500, EN14476, and EN 12791, which provides assurance that it is safe to use in healthcare environments. Even though it was already proven to be effective against enveloped viruses, it has also been tested against Coronavirus BCoV (surrogate virus) and passed the EN 14476 standard with a contact time of just 30 seconds.
GOJO believes that efficacy is only part of the solution to ensuring compliance though. One of the most common barriers to good hand hygiene technique amongst healthcare professionals is skin irritation. When you consider the frequency with which care workers must clean their hands, it is critical that formulations are kind to skin.
PURELL Advanced Hygienic Hand Rub includes moisturisers to keep skin healthy and feeling soft and refreshed. It is perfect for when hands are not visibly soiled and, contrary to a popular myth, can be a friendlier choice for skin than soap and water. Studies have shown that, when nurses used an alcohol-based hand rub with moisturising effect for two weeks, skin irritation and dryness decreased. Following two further weeks of the nurses using medicinal soap and water instead, scientists concluded that modern moisturising hand sanitising rub cause less skin discomfort.
