CATEGORY 1 FACE VISOR by Regency Design
This year, Regency Design has turned its attention from its usual specialist printing skills to PPE design and manufacture to help meet the needs of all frontline workers.
As part of a series of innovations to support key workers and businesses returning to usual practises, Regency Design has created a Category 1 Face Visor, protecting frontline workers, businesses and high-risk members of the public, as well as making up for the UK-wide shortfall in essential PPE.
The reusable PPE Category 1 Face Visors are designed to be highly durable and easily cleaned. Using a clear, polycarbonate panel with anti-fogging properties and high-quality optics with no distortion, the Face Visors can be used in all vital scenarios.
Designed to provide long-lasting comfort, the Face Visor features a soft foam headband and adjustable Velcro strap so that everyone can get the perfect fit.
They are CE marked to demonstrate conformity with health, safety and environmental protection standards for products sold within the EU.
The Face Visors are designed for multi-use, so that people can stay safer for longer before another visor is needed. They come with a space for the owner to write their name, and other important information such as the date on which the visor was issued, as well as an option to incorporate a logo into the headband design.
Tens of thousands of the Category 1 Face Visors have been used by NHS Test Centres and Trusts, GP surgeries and care homes throughout the UK, protecting key workers, helping businesses return to usual practices and keeping customers safe.

DEPURO PRO by Vortice
Ventilation systems supplier Vortice launched the DePuro Pro plug and play air purifier, specifically developed with double filtration to reduce the number of particles in the air such as bacteria, micro-organisms and viruses. Designed for all kinds of spaces such as care homes, offices, hotels, universities and the health sector, this is clearly of huge interest as we fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
The DePuro Pro is available in two sizes and comes with HEPA 14 absolute filters, capable of retaining up to 99.995% of microparticles (equivalent diameter 0.3µm) which require periodic replacement, highlighted by the filter status indicator on the control panel. The DePuro Pro 150 is suitable for rooms up to 50m2 rooms up to 100m2
and the DePuro Pro 300 is suitable for . This new product is highly energy
efficient, is easy to handle and has sound-absorbing panels, making it almost silent to operate.
Vortice installed the new DePuro Pro air purifier in its own Burton-upon-Trent offices and has reported excellent results. Vortice currently runs the unit at 53% during the day and it is then programmed to run at a higher rate when the office is empty, to purge the atmosphere.
Technical Manager Andrew Dickinson said: “We’ve seen a very large reduction in airborne contaminants including bacteria and viruses within the first 30 minutes of the operation of the DePuro Pro and, as the unit is working 24 hours per day, the levels are kept at low or very low levels constantly unless they are introduced by the opening of windows.”
The DePuro Pro air purifier has also been successfully installed in NHS hospitals in Essex as part of their fight against the spread of COVID-19.
