Doing it for the kids

Oracle’s Walk of the Onesie’s for Temple Street Children’s Hospital was the brainchild of Cloud CX Sales Leader Crevan O’Malley and Senior Director, Daniela Becker, and is just one of the organisation’s many CSR initiatives. “A CSR focus has always featured high on the radar for Oracle teams,” O’Malley explains. “Oracle has been in Dublin for a quite a while now, and we wanted to continue to build on positive solid community relationships already in place, while making a material and lasting contribution to a local charity.”

The company chose to collaborate with Temple Street Hospital. “We’re very aware of the challenging financial circumstances every publicly funded healthcare facility finds itself in today. We met the Hospital Fundraising team and felt strongly that our contributions should go towards Patient Services-specific programmes aimed at making a child’s stay a little more enjoyable. In our first year, we funded the hospital pet dog, Buttons, making ward visits once a week.”

As well as raising much-needed funds, the initiative has built goodwill within the organisation, says O’Malley. “It’s provided a positive cross-department opportunity for teams to meet, mix and build relationships. It’s benefited these internal teams hugely, and it’s provided lots of fun as people compete with each other to raise as much funds as possible for such a worthy cause. This initiative will continue as more people each year want to get involved.” oracle.com
