from the desk of the executive director
Although your service will continue for two more years as immediate past-presidents, please know how much your leadership has been valued and the difference it has made. We wish Rick Parks (WSMA/WFSM) and Paul Budde (WMEA) the very best as they depart their roles as immediate past-pres- ident this year and join the distinguished list of past presidents for their respective associations. It has truly been an honor to work with you.
Employees
There is a group of eight individuals who have chosen to work for WSMA as a full-time career and two individuals who support WSMA work part time. Every day, this team is hard at work to ensure that all of the operations work of the
associations and foundation are handled with professionalism and care. Their lead- ership, dedication and approach to support- ing all member schools, educator members and donors is second to none. Through this small but mighty team, we are able to sup- port and lift over 150 district and concert festivals, 10 state festivals, Honors camp and performances for five ensembles, one state marching band championship, profes- sional learning workshops, Wisconsin State Music Conference, and all of the events for the various WSMA, WMEA and WFSM committees. This team manages and di- rects programs, services, communications and technology related needs for tens of thousands of pieces of data, and they ensure the finances and liability needs of the orga- nizations are always in check. Thank you
to Kevin, Erica, Kerrie, Tim, Matt, Alec, Darin, Anne, Linda and Mark for all you do each and every day and for continuing to choose the work for WSMA, WMEA and WFSM as your career.
On behalf of WSMA, WMEA and WFSM, thank you for your service. It is truly an honor to walk with you and serve. As we look toward 2024-25, may this be the best year yet for Wisconsin’s educational eco- system and ensure access to a well-rounded education inclusive of music for every student in our state.
