Innovative IR hotplate/stirrer for precision lab applications
Experience the cutting-edge design of the Wiggens WH390-NH, featuring the latest infrared heating technology for efficient and powerful heating (2000 W). This innovative hotplate- stirrer is engineered to rapidly heat various vessel shapes, including round-bottom flasks, reaching a maximum temperature of 550ºc in a very short time.
Benefiting from Schott glass ceramic surface technology, the WH390-NH ensures chemical resistance, high surface quality, and temperature shock resistance exceeding 700ºc. The poreless smooth surface facilitates easy cleaning, while the high infrared permeability ensures rapid and efficient liquid heating, optimising time and energy usage.
Equipped with three pre-set PID options for different volume heating applications, the WH390- NH self-optimises for perfect temperature stability. Connection of a Pt-100 sensor enables temperature-controlled work with a remarkable stability of +/- 2ºc in most applications.
Beyond its swift heating and precise temperature control, the WH390-NH offers controlled liquid mixing from gentle to intense, making it suitable for large-volume viscous media. Separate control knobs enable independent management of stirring and heating functions, while a user- friendly touch screen provides visibility and monitoring of essential parameters.
The WH390-NH’s memory function for stirring speed and temperature settings adds convenience to experiments, ensuring a consistent starting point. The residual-heat display enhances user safety, preventing burns. With its array of features, the Wiggens hotplate stirrer emerges as the premier solution for efficient and versatile liquid heating and mixing in laboratory settings, catering to diverse applications, including the exacting requirements of cannabis extraction.
Compact dry scroll pump expands vacuum choices
Edwards has expanded its dry scroll pump series with the introduction of the mXDS3, a compact, lightweight pump delivering exceptional dry pumping performance. With a pumping speed of 3m³/h, this addition complements Edwards’ current range of small dry pumps, which encompasses the nXDS scroll pump series, spanning from 3 to 120m³/h.
The mXDS3 serves as a sustainable alternative to traditional oil-sealed rotary vane pumps, eliminating the need for oil maintenance, replacement, or disposal. These scroll pumps are not only eco-friendly but also feature lower power consumption compared to pumps with similar capacities.
In addition to its environmental advantages, the mXDS3 has an impressive ultimate vacuum performance of 0.1mbar, making it ideal for supporting turbomolecular pumps. Edwards offers the mXDS3 in both standard and configured versions, the mXDS3s, which includes a built-in inlet valve, providing flexibility for end users, OEMs, and system builders.
Edwards Product Manager, David Goodwin said: “I am delighted to introduce this new small dry pump which is a great addition to our scroll pump portfolio. This gives us the opportunity to provide our customers more choice and fills a gap in the diverse range of products we offer.”
