With variable injection techniques suitable for most diverse sample volumes and with an intelligent rinsing technique, there are no compromises for particle containing samples. This week an insight into the design strengths and manufacturing skills of British laboratory autoclave producer Priorclave are revealed in a new Corporate Video. The short video clip takes the viewer on a journey that every autoclave built takes at the company’s manufacturing centre in South East London, from the design studio, through component production to fi nal assembly, test and make-ready for delivery. The new Corporate Video also gives a brief look into the superb customer support programme from a dedicated service team that extends around the world.
Priorclave is one of the best and most successful technical innovators when it comes to producing robust, reliable and highly effective steam sterilisers and this skill has enabled the company to gain a strong global presence, with exports accounting for around 60% of output from the London manufacturing plant.
After viewing the video it is not diffi cult to understand why Priorclave enjoys international success, supplying around the world to organisations actively involved in research in food, dairy, microbiology and pharmaceutical manufacture, the health care sector as well as, universities and other institutes. The opening sequence of the new Priorclave Corporate autoclave video shows examples from a comprehensive range of standard laboratory steam sterilisers that include benchtop autoclaves, front loading autoclaves, the unique RSC front loading laboratory autoclaves, top loading models, doubled-ended autoclaves and power door sterilisers. Telstar has designed a new laminar airfl ow cabinet for the transfer of animals used in scientifi c testing that provides greater mobility, effi ciency and protection. The cabinet preserves the immunity of the animals without affecting sterility levels. One of the main features of the equipment, which has been recently introduced, is its effi ciency. The cabinet incorporates low- consumption EC fans, which provide an energy saving of up to 35%, while operating at extremely low noise levels that help to minimise the stress levels of the animals being studied.
The ergonomic design of the cabinet is characterised by the fact that it is accessible from both sides and that it has a spacious work area divided into two zones, with adjustable heights for users, making it a versatile work environment in which two technicians can comfortably and effectively carry out their work at the same time. The incorporation of a double HEPA airfl ow fi ltration system in the work zone provides workers with maximum levels of protection against allergens, since it prevents cross-contamination and guarantees the highest levels of sterility in the working zones in the interior of the cabinet. In addition, the HEPA fi lter located in the lower region of the cabinet protects the atmosphere.
The equipment has been designed so that all the cabinet components can be readily accessed to make maintenance more effi cient, thus reducing maintenance costs. The cabinet features a control system with a colour graphical display to which both users have access. Also incorporated are an extraction protection system and an easily removed drip-tray to collect fl uids, which can be autoclaved. A well-designed white fl uorescent lighting system which minimises visual fatigue and reduces refl ection provides appropriate illumination of the working zone.
The maximum height of the cabinet is 2347mm, the front opening is 300mm high and the entire construction weighs 180kg. It is constructed in aluminium and is mounted on castors, which make it lightweight and easy to transport.
