20 New Affordable Autosampler for Ion Chromatography


Metrohm complements its automation portfolio for ion chromatography with an affordable, entry-level Autosampler. With its capacity for a maximum of 56 x 11 mL sample vessels it meets the requirements of laboratories with medium sample throughput. Should need be, it can be easily upgraded.


There are 6 different sample changers (in 13 versions) available for ion chromatography alone. Metrohm can offer the perfect solution for every requirement. The 919 IC Autosampler plus is their newest sample changer.


It meets the requirements of laboratories with medium sample throughput and can take up to 56 x 11 mL sample vessels on its rack. If requirements increase subsequently, it is simple to upgrade the 919 IC Autosampler plus.


Moreover, it has a dual-channel peristaltic pump, so that it can be equipped at any time with inline ultrafiltration or other inline sample preparation techniques. The sample changer is equipped with a novel zirconium oxide sample needle and thus the whole sample path is metal free. This needle has a very long lifetime.

Automated Weighing From Just 1µg Accurate


Mettler Toledo’s WX weighing modules family is designed for high-precision automated as well as manual weighing in instruments, machines and isolators. The compact design means that installation is straightforward and space saving. The comprehensive overload protection and rugged plug-in connections are designed for use in analytical processes and production applications. The weighing cell in a stainless steel housing benefits from mechanical protection against vertical static overload of between 25 and 50 times the weighing capacity. It is also protected against later–al shear forces such as those occurring during automatic loading and unloading of the weighing pan or in the event of malfunction of handling equipment. The fast weighing technology and data transmission of the WX modules deliver reproducible values within fractions of a second, thereby accelerating filling, production, and testing processes. With their extensive parameter sets, WX modules can be configured so that they are optimised for virtually any application and environment. Efficient cleaning of the entire system is a common requirement in order to avoid cross contamination when formats and products change. The weighing pan is easily removed for cleaning. The opening exposed can be sealed with the cover supplied. Thanks to the rugged industrial plug connectors with IP67 protection, the weigh module can be rinsed with a cleaning fluid.

Storage Location Management and Biobanking


Many organisations have a need to track the storage location, movement and disposal of samples, and other materials.


LabWare LIMS now includes a flexible Storage Location Manager module allowing customers to configure storage location hierarchies such as site, building, room, refrigerator, shelf etc.


The storage capacity of locations can be specified, including dimensions of containers such as boxes and plates and a highly intuitive explorer style interface is provided to navigate through available locations.


Storage Location Manager is seamlessly integrated into LIMS workflows.


For example, when samples arrive in the laboratory they can be received, automatically labelled, and then assigned to available locations which meet storage requirements such as freezer temperature and whether samples have to be stored together, such as, in contiguous box positions.


Finding a sample is easy. Storage Location Manager will quickly display a samples storage location after an operator enters the sample ID, or other identifying information.
