Qualiris by Stago is an innovative, flexible international external quality control (EQC) programme that can be tailored to individual requirements and scheduling needs, helping laboratories to fulfil regulatory requirements by regular, frequent proficiency testing. The standard QC Premium package includes 12 surveys per month for routine haemostasis tests – PT, APTT, fibrinogen and thrombin time – with the option to add on a wide variety of more specialised tests, such as D-dimer, thrombophilia and factor assays. Participants receive real--time peer group reports, plus regular reports containing quantitative and qualitative statistics, which are colour-coded and flagged to enhance interpretation. In addition, the Diagnostic Challenge – involving analysis of an unknown sample with a specific coagulation issue – provides an ongoing educational programme, with participants receiving a full performance report that includes a detailed clinical summary of the case and a comparison of their results with those of other national and international laboratories. offers the most comprehensive range of high quality magnetic stirrers. The C-MAG series of magnetic stirrers provide reliable, safe heating and stirring solutions with high performance and efficiency. It is designed with the most advanced ‘German Technology’. The flat, space-saving, sturdy and robust construction provides easy handling, excellent durability and added stability.
The C-MAG series of magnetic stirrers (MS series without heating), magnetic hotplate stirrers (HS series with heating) and hotplates (HP series) are available with heating plates in
4, 7 and 10 inches. It is equipped with a powerful motor for stirring quantities up to 15 L (H2O). The glass ceramic heating plate offers excellent chemical resistance to acids, bases and solvents. Easy cleaning of the heating plate and the device casing is a great benefit. The elevated control panel protects the display from spilled liquids. Additionally, the hot surface warning remains illuminated even after device is turned off. This combination makes it perfect for simple laboratory applications.
All the C-MAG stirrers come equipped with step less speed control, DIN bushing for connecting an electronic contact thermometer such as an ETS-D5, fixed safety circuit of 550oC and all units meet the international safety standards in compliance with UL, CE and IEC norms.

ADVERTORIAL ECD Services
Electron Capture Detectors contain a radioactive source and so are controlled by legislation. Ellutia Ltd is licensed to provide a range of services designed to help users of these devices remain within the law.
Leak Testing
It is a legal requirement that the detectors are leak tested (wipe tested) to detect radioactive contamination of the surface at intervals of between one and three years depending upon local regulations. Ellutia supply a convenient leak test kit containing full instructions and materials to perform the test. The test samples are then sent to Ellutia for analysis and report.
ECD Refurbishment
ECDs can be contaminated by dirty samples and require cleaning, the legal requirements mean that this must only be carried out by suitably qualified personnel in a registered laboratory. This Refurbishment is another of the services Ellutia can offer.
ECD Disposal
Ellutia also offers a service whereby ownership of detectors that are no longer required can be transferred to Ellutia they will then be assessed for reuse or disposal. For more information on these services please visit
