Lab21 (UK) is pleased to announce that it has sold its environmental business to Cogent Environmental Ltd, a newly established company backed by Sultan Scientific Ltd. Financial details of the deal have not been revealed. SPECTRO Establishes Japanese Office and Demonstration Facility
Spectro Analytical Instruments (Germany) has opened an instrument demonstration and application laboratory along with a direct sales, service and marketing office in Tokyo near Shinagawa station to better serve its growing Japanese customer base. “We are very pleased with our new Tokyo office and demonstration facility. It represents a further
expansion of our presence in Japan and reflects the growing importance of our customer base here,” notes Manfred Bergsch, Spectro Business Unit Manager. Spectro has offered arc/spark, ICP optical emission and X-ray fluorescence spectrometers in Japan since the 1980s with more than 700 systems installed countrywide. “We are now able to provide our customers with a wider range of products and services, including
product demonstrations, customer training seminars, applications workshops and factory direct service and support, “ adds Mr. Andreas Eerden, General Manager of Spectro Japan. Spectro operates the facility jointly with EDAX. AquaSensors, LLC – Now Part of Thermo Fisher Scientific
AquaSensors (USA) a start-up company founded in 2003 by former Great Lakes Instruments employees involved in the design and manufacture of innovative measurement systems for water quality and process control applications, has been acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific. Effective immediately, AquaSensors will be integrated into Thermo Fisher’s Water Analysis Instruments business (WAI) of the Environmental Instruments Division.
AquaSensors will complement Thermo
Fisher’s existing capabilities in water markets for laboratory electrodes and online analyzers. They offer a full range of ‘smart’ and analog process electrodes and hardware for pH/ORP, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, ozone, free chlorine, turbidity and suspended solids. This also provides Thermo Fisher with a major opportunity to compete in process sensor markets.
