Small and Reliable Intrinsically Safe Dew Point Transmitter for Cng Applications

Recently developed by Michell Instruments (UK), the Easidew TX I.S. Transmitter offers a minimal footprint while maintaining exceptional performance and reliability. The new transmitter can be connected in a 2-Wire loop powered or 3-Wire configuration. It features a white HDPE sinter, designed to provide a visual indication of sensor contamination. The new sintered guard provides protection to less than 10 micron and is impermeable to liquids

The Easidew TX I.S. is certified by ATEX and FM Approvals for use in hazardous areas. The certification lists five different galvanic isolators and allows customers to choose the most suitable isolator for their own on-site requirements. This intrinsically safe transmitter has powerful processing capability allowing for the first time, the on-board calculation of ppm(v) moisture content in selectable ranges from 0 to 3000ppm. Application software allows the user to configure output parameters, ranges and scaling. The key to the transmitter’s performance is its sensor technology. Michell Instruments’ Advanced Ceramic Moisture

Sensor is coupled with advanced microprocessor-based measurement circuitry to produce a fully calibrated and interchangeable sensor transmitter. All calibration data is stored within the transmitter’s memory and so calibration exchange, or service, can be effected in seconds, even by untrained personnel. The Easidew TX I.S. is simply disconnected, removed from its sampling block and replaced by a new fully calibrated unit. The Easidew TX I.S. the perfect choice for measurement of dew point or moisture content. Specific applications include CNG (compressed natural gas) dryers, hydrogen coolant in power stations, industrial/hazardous gas manufacture and supply and many more.

The powerful and versatile ZM 200 from Retsch combines maximum performance with ease of use. This rotor mill allows for extremely rapid size reduction of a vast range of materials which considerably increases the sample throughput in the sample prep laboratory. The grinding tools can be cleaned easily and quickly so that cross contamination due to frequently changing sample materials can be successfully avoided. Thanks to the patented cassette system, 100% sample recovery is guaranteed.

The two-step size reduction process by shearing and

Lightweight Electric Pressure Calibrator Lets You Calibrate and Test Pressure Devices with One Hand

Fluke Europe (The Netherlands) has announced the new Fluke 719 Electric Pressure Calibrators. These high performance, lightweight devices feature a built-in electric pressure pump that makes it possible to quickly calibrate and test pressure devices with one hand.

Process technicians, plant maintenance technicians and instrument technicians who do pressure calibration work often use manual pumps to pressurize transmitters and gauges. That requires the use of two hands: one to pump and one to hold the pressure calibrator. With its built-in, battery powered pump controlled by a thumb button, the Fluke 719 pressure calibrator is more convenient, faster and easier to use.

impact forces allows for rapid and gentle grinding down to a fineness which usually ranges between 100 and 500 micrometers. Due to the wide selection of accessories which include different rotors, ring sieves and cassettes, the ZM 200 can be adapted to a great variety of size reduction tasks. In many industries the ZM 200 has become the standard in sample preparation. Powerful drive with speed range from 6,000 to 18,000 min-1, Rapid and gentle grinding with 2-step rotor/ring sieve system. Easy handling and cleaning. Great variety of applications thanks to manifold accessories. Motor compartment and electronics protected against dust and material penetration.

Arsenic Quick Mini-Kit for Inorganic Arsenic Detection in Wood

Fast, Accurate and Reproducible Karl Fischer Water Determination of Difficult Samples.

The NEW 860 KF Thermoprep opens up new possibilities for determining the water content by the Karl Fischer method of samples that are either insoluble, react with the KF reagent or which cannot be placed directly in the titration vessel for other reasons. The samples are no longer placed in the oven in weighing boats, but each sample is now contained in its own tightly sealed sample vial. The 860KF can be used with all volumetric and coulometric KF titrators.

Water determination of “difficult” samples can now be achieved, as the sample is not put directly into the titration cell.

Examples of difficult samples include, oil (containing additives), plastics, paint, pharmaceutical products, hair, wound-care products, to name but a few.

The 860 KF Thermoprep from Metrohm drives off moisture from solid and liquid samples for the subsequent coulometric or volumetric determination of the water content by the Karl Fischer method. Temperature range 50...250 °C The 860 KF Thermoprep is available in 3 options: Option 1 is as an oven on it’s own. Option 2 is as an oven in conjunction with a coulometric KF (for low level water), and option 3 is with a volumetric KF (for high level water).

Now available from Industrial Test Systems (USA) is a quick, easy, field test kit that can confirm the presence of inorganic arsenic in wood. Arsenic Quick™ 481396-W kit is a modification of the US Patented, ETV Verified arsenic test for drinking water. This 10 minute test readily confirms the absence or presence of arsenic in any wood sample, including CCA treated lumber using safe reagents. The semi-quantitative test detects the presence of 1 µg of inorganic arsenic with a yellow to brown coloration of the reacted test strip. Because the arsenic presence in aged wood can not be detected at the surface of the wood the test procedure recommends that a ¼” drill bit is used to collect a ½”drilled sample from the wood. This drilled sample is then added to the reaction bottle for analysis.

The arsenic test kits are used worldwide by

International Aid Organizations, and are available to detect arsenic in wood, water or soil.
