Portable / Field Testing Positive Material Identification On-site XRF Analyser

Ashtead Technology (Singapore) offers one of the smallest, fastest and most versatile Innov-X handheld XRF Alpha Series Positive Material Identification Analyser for quality control, non-destructive testing and metal recycling, without Radioactivity. The Innov-X handheld XRF has become the preferred analyser for petrochemical, production/power and fabrication industries. It is widely accepted for alloy verification in nearly every major refinery, the nuclear power industry, and by leading alloy producers and fabricators.

Applications for this Positive Material Identification analyser include alloy analysis for quality control, non-destructive testing and metal recycling. The Innov-X has flexible and friendly software allowing three modes of operation. Fast ID Mode provides rapid spectral signature matching for grade identification plus alloy chemistry. Analytical Mode provides a full chemistry analysis using the method of fundamental parameters, plus grade matching to grade table specifications. Pass/Fail Mode is a rapid sorting mode. The operator selects a standard from a fingerprint library for Pass/Fail comparison. The decision criteria can be spectral signature matching, or chemistry, or chemistry ranges for one or more elements.

The Innov-X analyser is also used for in-situ testing of metals in soil, bagged or prepared soil samples. It can be equipped with the environmental metals in soils module to identify and quantify Titanium, Barium, Chromium, Manganese, Iron, Cobalt, Nickel, Copper, Zinc, Mercury, Arsenic, Selenium, Lead, etc,

The Innov-X tube-based Alpha Series is isotope free and delivers instant, accurate readings. It features a miniature X-ray tube and high-resolution detector. Engineered around the HP iPAQ pocket PC, the Alpha Series is user-friendly, flexible, and upgradeable, and has a bright color display for easy viewing in all lighting conditions and a rear-facing LCD display. It is now available for rental at Ashtead Technology (SEA) Pte Ltd.

Features: Tube-based system eliminates costly resourcing and loss of speed, Multi-element Analysis - in one measurement, Definitive Pos./Neg. Classifications, Ergonomic and lightweight design, Versatile PDA platform and Easily measures uneven surfaces

Flowtest St is a stack velocity and flow meter through the Pitot tube from Tecora (Italy), which allows the operator to calculate the sampling point and to define the sampling time for each point. The instrument will execute the measurement and will record velocity, temperature and pressure point-by-point.

Extremely accurate, Flowtest St stands out for the innovative software, that, through the continuously check of the sampling flow, helps the isokinetic calculation. The software allows the user to change duration time point-by-point, repeat a measurement point or recover an incomplete profile already stored in an easy and simple manner.

The instrument is supplied with a USB key to download sampling data.

Another important feature of Flowtest St is the universality of the thermocouples: in fact, it is possible to choose J, K or T type. This means that the laboratories that already have a probe won’t buy another one and will use their own. Regarding battery, the customer can choose if use rechargeable batteries (with battery charger) or alkaline batteries AA type.

Flowtest St has high stability: its recalibration his necessary only once a year. The plus of the instrument is the high accuracy (better than 1%). This is very important for laboratories accredited with ISO 17025, who can execute measurements according to EN 13284, which requires high accuracy sensors to perform the measurement.

Electronic Sensor Technology (USA) introduces the zNose Model 4600, portable integrated ultra-fast gas chromatography instrument. Designed to meet the needs of the field user the Model 4600 incorporates EST’s patented acoustic detector, an integrated touch screen computer and full day’s supply of helium and power for productive work in the field. The 4600 brings EST’s proven sensitivity and speed to the field. Contaminates can be detected at picogram concentrations in less than one minute.

EST’s zNose uses a patented acoustic wave detector to achieve the speed of the e-nose while retaining the sensitivity and specificity of gas chromatography. Odours, smells, or fragrances from air, water, or solids are sampled and then instantaneously injected into a capillary column where they are separated by molecular weight. The separated sample then passes out of the column onto the detector where the compound concentrations are measured. Each compound is identified from the time required for the compound to transit the column.

The zNose is used to identify and quantify pollution in air soil and water from diverse sources: paint manufacturers, slaughter houses, metal foundries, petroleum storage facilities, hog farms and incinerators.

EST’s zNose proved invaluable to the Chinese EPA in a major chemical spill. In a major industrial accident the zNose is able to give the incident commander real time information on the location, movement and dispersion of the pollution in the river enabling the government to protect the municipal water supplies.

The Flir ThermaCAM P65 available from Ashtead Technology Rentals (Singapore) takes high-definition 14-bit thermal images. At the same time, it records visual images with its built-in digital camera. The integrated Laser LocatIR, activated at the touch of a button, helps you to safely and quickly associate a hot spot shown on the IR image with the problem area on the physical target.

The ThermaCAM P65 is the most highly refined infrared inspection system available today. Its powerful new features and conveniences enable the professional thermographer to work with unprecedented efficiency and productivity. Working in concert with ThermaCAM reporting and database software, the P65 fully automates the process of collecting, reporting, and archiving infrared images and thermal data.

The ThermaCAM P65 is useful when scanning moving targets such as motors, conveyor belts. The camera can record up to 35 seconds of video in an AVI-file. This AVI-file can be replayed in the camera or on a PC for further analysis.

Features include: Extraordinary Thermal Sensitivity and Imaging Quality; Real Time Imaging; Easy to Operate; Rugged and Lightweight; Flexible Viewing Storage; Flexible Viewing Options; Burst and AVI Recording
