18 Gas Detection SENSOR+TEST 2023 - Welcome to the Innovation Dialog!
The leading trade fair for sensor and measurement technology SENSOR+TEST will be held in Nuremberg from May 9-11, 2023. Three days of pure technology and lots of exciting topics along the entire measurement technology chain await the participants.
“We will welcome our exhibitors and visitors again in the exhibition halls of NürnbergMesse in May,” Holger Bödeker, Managing Director of AMA Service GmbH, is pleased to say. “As things stand at present, we expect more than 350 exhibitors in Halls 1 and 2 this year. Even if this does not quite bring us up to the fi gures of the exhibition before Corona, SENSOR+TEST will not lose anything in terms of attractiveness, but will even gain with numerous highlights.”
The participation of international exhibitors is also positive. In addition to Switzerland, from which most companies have come for many years, a large number of British companies will be present in May. Several companies as well as delegations from China have also confi rmed their participation. Due to the great interest, Hall 1 is already completely booked. “There are still free places in Hall 2, but interested parties should not take too much longer with their registration, because numerous other companies from Germany and abroad are waiting in the wings to present their innovations on site in Nuremberg,” says Holger Bödeker.
Full supporting program expected
The extensive supporting program, which has already characterized SENSOR+TEST for many years, will again be accompanied by a top-class lecture forum in 2023. Holger Bödeker comments: “The quality is very high due to the examination of the submissions by a panel of experts, from which above all the visitors of the trade fair will benefi t.” Thus, interested parties can already look forward to a highly attractive program. On the forums, exhibitors will present new developments, products and application possibilities on all three days. Admission for visitors is free. And there’s more: interested parties who can’t be on site will have the opportunity to watch all the presentations live or online after the event. The theme of the lecture forum on May 9, 2023, is “Sensors and Measurement Technology for New Energies.”
A World-class congress
Parallel to the trade show, SMSI 2023 - Sensor and Measurement Science International Conference - will be held for national and international representatives from research, science and industry, providing a world-class congress and a platform for exchanging the latest research results. SMSI 2023 includes the three thematic blocks “Sensors and Instrumentation”, “Measurement Science” and “System of Units and Metrological Infrastructure”.
Exchange on all facets of measurement technology
SENSOR+TEST 2023 promises once again to be the most important platform for sensors and measurement technology in companies’ diaries. With three intensive trade fair days, but also a year- round digital information offering via newsletter, website and social media, a market of opportunities will be established, inviting regular technology exchange via modern information channels. Reliable and precise oxygen measurement for combustion plants

LogiDataTech’s MF-Oxy measures oxygen partial pressure directly in gas mixtures, to measure absolute oxygen content precisely and reliably in harsh in industrial locations. This device can also self-diagnose for hardware malfunctions, even during operation and its sensor can be calibrated without the use of reference gas.
The MF-Oxy was designed specifi cally for automatic control of combustion plants, and for taking precise oxygen measurements in diffi cult-to-reach areas or in self-contained locations such as ventilation tubes or containers. Its signals can be transmitted up to 300 meters and the data then transferred over great distances. There are two versions, with the capability of operating at maximum exhaust temperatures of +250°C and +350°C. A fail-safe system can be made operational via an additional, independent digital output.
MF-Oxy oxygen sensors are available with a measuring range from 0.1 to 25 Vol.-% or 0.1 to 100 Vol.-% oxygen. For use at temperatures of up to +250°C, there is a choice of probe tubes of 120 mm, 220 mm, 400 mm and 800 mm are available; for operation at process temperatures of up to +350°C, all probe sizes apart from the 120 mm are available. The instrument also includes an analogue interface with 4 - 20 mA or 0 - 10 V; it is also features an independent digital output. The MF-Oxy is equipped as standard with a full sinter cab; optionally, an inside sinter can be installed, to make the system more resistant to impurities, although this option would increase reaction times.
The MF-Oxy is complaint with DIN EN 50270: 2015-5 type1 and type2 and DIN EN 61326-1: 2013-07 and with EMC-directives 2014/30/EU.

New portable gas analysis technology unveiled at World Biogas Expo
Q.E.D. Environmental Systems, Inc., recently debuted a new range of modular portable gas analysers at the World Biogas Expo 2023.
The new series will be the culmination of 25 years of R&D in the fi eld of portable gas analysis technology for the biogas and waste management industries.
The World Biogas Expo gave visitors an opportunity to experience the unit fi rst hand. The new instrument was displayed on the QED stand alongside the manufacturer’s GEOTECH BIOGAS 3000 and BIOMETHANE 3000 fi xed gas analysers.
Built on fi eld-proven gas analysis technology, the compact self-contained BIOGAS 3000 system offers cost-effective online monitoring that is ideal for anaerobic digestion, biogas monitoring, and landfi ll gas monitoring applications. The unit can be confi gured for up to four sampling points to monitor methane (CH4), carbon dioxide (CO2
), and oxygen (O2 ), with optional monitoring of hydrogen sulphide (H2 S), hydrogen gas (H2
monoxide (CO) levels – operators can choose up to fi ve gases to monitor. The unit is also available with a continuous monitoring option for CH4
, CO2 and O2 ) and carbon . By incorporating external H2
The BIOMETHANE 3000 is designed for the high-accuracy methane and oxygen readings for a broad range of biomethane production applications, including gas-to-grid, biogas upgrading, and anaerobic digestion for agricultural and mixed food waste. The fi xed unit can provide detailed readings about the 95% methane level and below 1% oxygen level at fi rst stage production.
Both units are ATEX and IECEx-certifi ed and can be confi gured to provide a remote data access via a secure, cloud-based remote access portal.
