Analytical Instrumentation World’s fastest sulphur and nitrogen analysis
24 hours of continuous operation, 163 samples, without monitoring and in minimum space: This is how compEAct works – a sulphur and nitrogen analyser from Analytik Jena developed for the petrochemical industry. The detection power, measurement speed, and sample throughput of compEAct are peerless. Industrial customers who have already been able to test the device are enthusiastic and are already now demonstrably saving time and analysis costs. “We use compEAct for the routine analysis of sulphur. The device impresses us across the board. It demonstrates unbelievable analysis speed in routine operation, is very easy to operate, and can fit into even the tiniest corner of the laboratory,” says Dr. Tobias Munde, Associate Analytical Manager of Dow Olefinverbund GmbH. The company already uses compEAct successfully in ongoing operations.
“With compEAct we are introducing a brilliant design concept to the laboratory world: simplicity. The system focuses on only one type of analysis – sulphur or nitrogen – and therefore works faster and has more detection power than other system. Nearly anyone can operate it, it runs almost by itself, it requires only minimal servicing time, and it can be monitored remotely,” elaborates Dr. Marc Diener, Director Product Management and Application at Analytik Jena, on the advantages of compEAct.
The device requires very little space and operates nearly independently. Extensive training for laboratory personnel is not necessary. A sleek, intuitive user interface enables even inexperienced users to learn how to interact with the system. compEAct comes fully calibrated and equipped with a pre-installed ASTM methods library. Within a few hours after delivery the system is ready for operation. No longer are service technicians required to spend days on end configuring and setting up an analyser. It is possible to operate the device directly via a convenient multi-touch display. If an employee is not in the immediate vicinity of the compEAct, the analytic results and system operation can be monitored by smartphone. The combination of simple handling, high throughput and autonomous operation makes the compEAct the ideal nitrogen or sulphur analyser for petrochemical laboratories with large sample volumes and high efficiency standards. Analytik Jena will expand upon compEAct’s simplicity concept in the future. A smart auto-pilot function, which recognises and corrects errors independently, is already waiting in the wings. Predictive maintenance functions for consumables will be published shortly. As a result, compEAct users will save additional operating costs. Existing customers will also be able to use these functions by a simple software update. An image of the system is available for download at

On-site customised Gas Standard Preparation has never been easier than with Zephyr – a compact version of well-known GasMix™ family from Alytech, France. This low cost, compact device is a smart companion in quality assurance for all gas analysers, GC or gas detectors helping you significantly reduce your stock of gas standard cylinders and related cost.
With its touch screen and intuitive interface, very simple in operation, Zephyr is widely used in various applications for gas mixing/dilution. It can create calibration gas standards from a concentrated gas and a diluent with a dilution ratio up to 10000; be employed for generation of synthetic atmosphere for an oxidation reactor or a glove box; make sample steam dilution and/or internal standard addition.
GasMix™ is compliant with International standards method ISO6145-7 Gas Volumetric Preparation.
The dedicated Software ZeSoft is fully automated the operation and allows a single injection run or a fully automated and pre-programmed sequences that can be stored in the memory and recalled at any time.
Unique Smart Sequence building feature helps operator to make multi-point calibration curves easily. User chooses the number of points, starting and ending concentration values, and the software calculates the respective concentration levels.
When it is used for the calibration of an analyser, accuracy of final concentration is very important. With Zephyr uncertainty of the final gas concentration is calculated automatically taking into account the used flow and the certified uncertainty of the parent gas.
Zephyr is compatible with aggressive gases and active compounds like sulfurs, H2
