Drumchapel is looking better after upgrade


A COMMUNITY in the North West is looking cleaner and greener thanks to GHA improvement work. Tenants in Carolside Drive, Drumchapel,


are enjoying the new-look exteriors to their blocks, as well as backcourts, front gardens and retaining walls upgraded as part of a £600k project. The fresh look of the buildings, which


were cleaned and painted, has helped create a sense of community. Derek Murray, 46, from Carolside Drive, noticed a big difference after moving back to Drumchapel after years in England. Derek, an industrial cleaner, said: “The block looks great. It’s been painted, with new rough casting on the garden walls, new grassy areas at the front and upgraded backcourts including new paths.


“It’s a lot more modern-looking – and

it’s cleaner and tidier too. GHA has been looking after the building well and the work has made the whole street look good.


“The environment has a big effect on people. “Tenants see GHA is making


improvements - and if you live in a nice area then you take more care of your community.”
