Newly Redeveloped Equine Journalism Course Launches this Fall


}GUELPH, Ont. – Open Learning and Educational Support and Equine Guelph are excited to add Equine Journalism to the fall 2021 course list. The course has been completely redeveloped to reflect the ongoing changes in the new digital environment and content relevant to the equine industry. This course will be taught by Emily Es- terson, an editor, writer, journalist, and professor with 25 years of ex- perience. Equine Journalism aims to


provide the necessary tools, tech- niques, and knowledge to help stu- dents develop compelling content suitable for publishing in both mainstream and equine journalism outlets. The course will also benefit equine business owners, service providers, or those who write and develop content for websites or blogs. “Students will learn what it


takes to become an equine journal- ist including developing a story, conducting research, writing a compelling piece, editing tech- niques, and pitching a story,” says Manager Program Development, Marjory Gaouette. “A unique com- ponent to this course is that stu- dents will also learn about running a freelance writing business.” Equine Journalism is designed
