Equestrian Team Announced Canada’s Tokyo 2020
Ottawa, ON, July 6, 2021 – Equestrian Canada and the Canadian Olympic Com- mittee have announced Canada’s equestrian team nominated to compete at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The six athletes quali-
fied for Team Canada based on performances that met Fédération Équestre Inter- nationale (FEI) Minimum Eligibility Requirements
from Jan. 1, 2019, to June 21, 2021. Jessica Phoenix, Canada’s most
decorated eventer, has six medals from major Games to her name. She and partner, Pavarotti, led Canada to a

AJAX DOWNS, JUNE 30, 2021 - Marie Broadstock and Picov Cattle Company’s ICE CREAM CARTEL won the faster of two Trials for the up- coming $50,000 Princess Derby at Ajax Downs on Wednesday, June 30, setting up an exciting final for the Derby on July 14. Trained by Bob Broadstock of
Nestleton, ON, Ice Cream Cartel, making her second start of the 2021 season, quickly assumed command out of the gate in the 350 yard sprint while heavily favoured Streakinlil- wagon broke awkwardly and slowly. Under jockey Ismael Mosquiera, Ice Cream Cartel won by 1 1/2 lengths over Big Dog racing’s Goodness Gra- ceious who was a nose ahead of Streakinlilwagon. The time of :17.982 was good for an 89 speed index. Broadstock purchased Ice
