rope ‘prank’ A NINE-year old boy suffered neck injuries after a rope was “cal- lously’ strung across a path in East Malling.
The child was riding his bike in woodland near Wateringbury Road when he hit the string and fell off his bike.
Now the rope is beind sent off
for tests which could identify the culprits.
The incident, which is being in-
vestigated as a case of attempted grievous bodily harm, happened at around 5.30pm on June 19. Inspector Elizabeth Jones said: “The child could have sustained far more serious injuries as a result of this callous act.
“In addition to sending the rope for forensic testing, Police Com- munity Support Officers have been patrolling the area in an ef- fort to deter further offences and also look out for similar hazards. “It may be that this was a poorly thought-out prank that went wrong and we advise the person responsible to come forward to ex- plain their actions.”

Fraudster trapped by her rose tattoo
A DISTINCTIVE rose tattoo helped track down a fraudster who targeted residents in Snod- land.
Amber Ward (35) tricked resi- dents into handing over parcel de- liveries including mobile phones. She and her accomplice Rueben Thomas (29) travelled to Snodland where they targeted the homes of people whose identities had been stolen. Using fake ID, Ward would tell the occupiers she had a connection to the former homeowner. She pretended to be a relative or a girlfriend who was collecting parcels on their behalf, adding that the items were delivered to their old address by mistake. Doorbell camera footage was re-
