In the heart of the city
The Oldman River winds through the heart of Lethbridge and leaves stunning recreational areas for walking, mountain biking, fishing and golfing all in the heart of the City.
S
panning the river is the High Level Bridge, the largest conventional trestle railroad bridge ever built. The bridge is just over a mile long and 314 feet high, make sure to bring your camera, if you’re lucky you’ll see a train crossing and have a keepsake photo. The valley is home to the Helen Schuler Nature Centre and Fort Whoop- Up, the original trading fort was built in the late 1800’s and tells the story of the buffalo robe and illegal whiskey trade. Walkways, picnic areas and playground areas abound, it’s a great area to let the kids run off some energy and appreciate the beauty of the nature around them.
