GHOST TOWNS OF SOUTHERN ALBERTA


My wife Jane and I love road trips and last fall were wondering what we could do to keep busy, but still respect COVID regulations. We got the idea of touring ghost towns and learning and seeing our past. I Googled “ghost towns” and got a list of all locations in Alberta. I divided them up into three sections and there it was, we had our destinations. The first trip was frustrating, as our GPS could not find the locations. Back to Google, I got the land locations and learned land locations come in different forms and the GPS still had difficulty. So I went to Google Maps, printed off maps with the locations and then had it plot out our trip from point to point. Most tours were about four hours and we did, I believe, six trips.
