pandemic hit the entertainment world hard. Even though aspects of watching a movie or concert on the big screen under the stars has changed, the evolution or rejuvenation is welcome news in southern Alberta small towns, including Raymond.

This summer, Raymond is featuring a plethora of drive-in event dates to tantalize southern Albertans’ itch for entertainment. The town certainly continues to whet the appetite for those wanting a semblance of a somewhat live music scene. A sense of vintage nostalgia meets modern day technology, as the Town of Raymond hosts a stellar line-up and wide-variety of artists on a handful of hot summer nights. Greg Robinson, the town’s director
of Community Development and Human Resources says due to COVID-19 restrictions and regulations traditional public events and outdoor activities may be a real challenge this summer. “We’re trying to find safe ways for people to find things to do. concert. It’s a perfect companion to the current situation Albertans are finding themselves in,” he adds. “We want people to be safe. We’re really thrilled we can still do something like this.” Drive-in events provide southern

It’s a chance to reminisce with an old classic, an old friend. “And have a good time, safely,” says Robinson. “It’ll definitely feel different than going to a live concert, but that’s just not possible right now. We’re thrilled to showcase Raymond and show
people what Raymond is all about.” Robinson said the town has changed significantly in the past 10 years. “From the investment we made in recreation to the growth in our community. The attraction of the quality of homes we’re seeing is an incredible opportunity for Raymond. For this event, to showcase what we’re all about.” Right now, Robinson says one show is booked for June 12 and one tentatively for the later part of June. “We do know the June 12 show and it’s going to be a fantastic event. The June 12 show is going to be a collaboration with several artists
