Services may appear a little different in the ‘new normal’, not least because of the guidelines about singing in places of worship. Perhaps it seems that, at the present time:

“Thou shalt not sing or blow a musical instrument”

but this is an anathema to me! Rather, in the face of the pandemic, I would seek to find the Lord’s leading to overcome any obstacles in our path, so that we may fervently worship Him and pray with renewed vision and determination, using sound, ‘live’ or ‘recorded’, in fellowship with Him and those in His Church family of believers.

Psalm 98 was read and repeated, sermonised and meditated upon on Sunday 9 May in many Churches. How wonderful are the words of this Psalm, especially verses 4-6. In one video service that day, I heard, for the first time, a song entitled “The Grace of God”. What a beautiful song of worship! Two lines were repeated a number of times within the chorus:-

“Praise the lord, o my soul. I will sing of your great love forever” 7
