Ottawa, ON, April 28, 2021 – Equestrian Canada (EC) would like to remind the community that nominations are officially open for the 2021 EC Board of Directors. EC is looking for dedi-


cated individuals with the dy- namic and relevant skills to take on a leadership role in the organization. Directors will have the opportunity to help EC effectively deliver on its


mandate to represent, promote and advance equestrian sport and all related equine and equestrian interests in Canada. EC Directors will also


have the chance to work col- laboratively toward the contin- ued growth and development of the organization, while strengthening


partnerships


within Canada and abroad. Prospective candidates

2021 Equestrian Canada Board of Director Election: Key Information

Vacancies In 2021, there will be three (3) Directors elected.


As per Bylaw 4.2, d) Transi- tion:


Commencing in 2019


and for every year thereafter unless changed in accordance with the By-laws and Act and subject to increase to fill any vacancies for the remainder of a term, the number of Direc-


tors to be elected shall be the number of Directors whose terms expire in the same year as the election.


Three (3) positions will be for a three (3) year term ending in 2024. Term Limits: Per Bylaw Ar- ticle 4.10 Directors shall be eli-


gible for re-election, but no Director may serve for more than six (6) consecu- tive years. After serving six (6) consecutive years as a Director, an individual may be elected or appointed to serve another term after an absence of at least nine (9) months from the date he or she last served as a Direc- tor.

July 26-30, 2021 - Mem- bers cast their ballots Aug. 9, 2021 - Election re- sults announced/published **Aug. 9-13, 2021 - **In the event of a tie vote, Members cast a second bal- lot **Aug. 23, 2021 - **Sec- ond ballot election results announced/published (if ap- plicable) Sept. 28, 2021 (date TBC) - Introduction of Board Members to the EC Mem- bership at the EC Annual General Meeting (AGM)
