THE WORTLEY ARMS

FINE DINING AND GASTRO-PUB MEALS Come and try our new seasonal dishes

Extensive choice of gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian dishes A life of joy With Trevor Langley

Popping open a bottle of prosecco is always best shared with great company. So, what better

beverage to celebrate being able to meet up outdoors again.

There are many producers of high-quality sparkling, aromatic, prosecco wine. But with their distinctive metallic bottles, a great number of award-winning wines, and an interesting history dating back to the 17th century, Bottega Prosecco, grappa and other sparkling wines are sure to put the fizz into your summer. Their distillery is set within ten hectares of vineyards in the Treviso region of Italy, nestled between the Venice lagoon and Dolomites mountain range – all their Proseccos have the DOC classification.

If you prefer a drier wine, the popular Poeti Prosecco is fresh, fragrant and has a floral bouquet. The straw yellow coloured Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore (DOCG) Extra Dry or the organic Prosecco Biologico Extra Dry are other poets’ wines which are also very popular and regularly grace many dining occasions for their very fine, fresh, fruity and delicate taste. For a crowd pleaser, I found the Prosecco Fundum to be a splendid dry production that has plenty of fruits. The mouthfeel and palate sensation is fresh, with a good finish.

One of their best sellers, the Gold Prosecco

The Outdoor Experience From Saturday 1st May

Enjoy a locally brewed cask ale or gin and tonic any time of day

Poeti Prosecco is a further classy production from Bottega. Fresh, aromatic and very impressive, this wine comes in a magnificent gold-coloured bottle that has become Bottega’s distinguishable brand. Again, a fruity bouquet prevails, which leads enticingly to the wonderful mouthfeel. The palate is treated to a sensation that is pleasant and memorable. The glamour of the bottle presentation adds to the pleasures of this production, which is extremely popular for special occasions and also makes a really wonderful gift. As does their Pink Gold sparkling rose delectation, with its enchanting glittering label and capsule.

Prosecco wines, having a persistent and fine perlage, are perfect for apéritifs and excellent to pair with starters, fish, seafood and white meats.

As always, Enjoy!
