WELCOME TO AN ALL-NEW DISCOVERY
O
riginally opened on New Year’s Eve in 1925 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Vinoy Renaissance Resort & Golf Club is the only
historic luxury resort on Florida’s west coast that boasts four restaurants and lounges, 63,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, a private 72-slip marina, an 18-hole golf course, a 10-court tennis complex and a 5,000 square foot fitness center. Our tower guest rooms have been re-designed to reflect the glamour of the 1920s, when this historic hotel first opened. Artwork found in the
rooms are by famed photographer Toni Frissell and her iconic imagery from a 1947 Harper’s Bazaar magazine photo shoot at Florida’s Weeki Wachee spring. It is important to us that any changes we make retain The Vinoy’s original elegance while utilizing the best of contemporary design. The Vinoy’s lounge-like lobby blends modern elegance with Mediterranean
Revival architecture and features custom-made artwork from Dale Chihuly. In this issue, we chat with the Director of The Chihuly Collection, Andy Schlauch, who talks about the fabulous glass pieces you will find throughout The Vinoy – one of only four hotels worldwide to have Chihuly’s art on display. As downtown St. Petersburg’s most iconic hotel, we treasure our community
and embrace the growth of visual and performing arts in recent years. All of our concierges are amazing and can arrange your day of discovery with tried and true spots for outdoor dining, entertainment, and shopping. Discover the dining here at The Vinoy with a stop by Paul’s Landing for local seafood and international dishes in an atmosphere inspired by the unique history of St. Petersburg - particularly the city’s smokehouse and fishing pier. Couple your meal with fantastic views of Vinoy Marina. This marina and pool view restaurant features glass walls that highlight stunning views of the bay, downtown St. Petersburg and the swimming pool. Be sure to sample the namesake beer developed by one of St. Pete’s local craft breweries. 2021 and beyond will be the time to catch up on postponed wedding and
family celebrations. You’ll find information about the wide variety of indoor and outdoor venues available at The Vinoy. Rest assured that our associates have unlimited ideas for décor. Meanwhile, although the world has changed, newlyweds deserve to celebrate their day with a romantic escape, something we like to call a “minimoon.” You’ll have to peek inside to see what that is all about. We hope you return year-after-year to experience what the future holds.
