Jabil acquires Ecologic Brands

VIRTUAL PRE-PULPAPER

29 April 2021

M

anufacturing giant Jabil has announced the acquisition of Ecologic Brands, a leading provider of

sustainable paper bottle and paper- based packaging solutions. The deal will increase Ecologic’s

capacity to deliver its sustainable products on a global scale to a wider range of businesses and their target consumers. Sustainability is a growing trend among consumers, with more and more people looking at how they can adopt more sustainable behaviours. Recent research from Deloitte

shows that 43% of consumers are already actively choosing brands based on their environmental values. Reducing plastic consumption is a big factor in the journey towards becoming more eco-friendly too, with the same research from Deloitte highlighting that two-thirds of consumers have reduced their use of single-use plastics.

As a result, consumer brands are

reacting to the customer demand for sustainably sourced and packaged products. This includes major brands such as L’Oréal and Seventh Generation, who rely on Ecologic’s eco.bottle® to significantly reduce plastic packaging and advance their sustainability goals. These brands will now be able to leverage Jabil’s manufacturing expertise and deliver their sustainably-packaged products on a wider scale across the globe thanks to today’s announcement. Shane Wolf, president worldwide,

American Professional Brands, L’Oréal Professional Products Division, mentioned: “Jabil is synonymous with innovation, engineering, automation and scale, so we can only imagine the solutions that will emerge through its union with Ecologic Brands. The possibilities and accessibility for sustainable packaging options are now limitless.”
