Copywriting start-up plots path to success

Branding and web agency PLOTT Creative has teamed up with a new business owner who launched her copywriting venture during lockdown. Copywriter and marketer Anita Ellis set up

Lexicomm during the pandemic to help businesses tell their stories and inject personality into their communications. Brand storytelling agency PLOTT – which is

celebrating 10 years in business - has partnered with Lexicomm for copywriting services as the start-up celebrates its first quarter after launching in September. Anna Plotnek said: “I know how hard it is to

set up a business, let alone in a pandemic, so I’m chuffed to be able to support a new creative business like Lexicomm. “Compelling copywriting is an important part

of our offer and we’re already seeing the benefit.”

Katie Hale, former Chamber president and

prolific networker for PLOTT introduced Anna and Anita at the Sutton Coldfield Chamber EcoPledge launch last year when Anita was heading of marketing for YMCA Sutton Coldfield - the Chamber’s Charity of the Year.

‘I know how hard it is to set up a business, let alone in a pandemic’

The three female business owners are now

collaborating once again, supporting Anita in her new business venture. Anita added: “As a new business, having the opportunity to collaborate with an established business like PLOTT is a real vote of confidence. “Katie and Anna are creative powerhouses and an inspiration for women in business.”

was launched in response to the number of people working from home during the pandemic. He said: “Musculoskeletal disorders cost

UK businesses a staggering £5.2bn a year,” he said. Poor posture and decreased movement contribute greatly to complaints of the back, shoulders, wrists, neck etc, as well as impacting on mental health and wellbeing. “Employers have the same health and

safety responsibilities for home workers as for any other office-based worker, yet many employees are still working from the kitchen table or corner of the living room. “They are spending an increased amount

of time sat in front of their screen, which is often positioned at the incorrect height. “No one really knows how long this pandemic will last, and even when it ends, there are reports that many employees will continue to work from home.” As well as offering guidance and advice,

the site includes a range of sit-stand desks which have been proven to improve posture and movement.

than 23,000 clients who had experienced the services and so all winners where from first-hand experience. Caviar & Chips Catering - founded by

Jonathan Carter-Morris and Marc Hornby in 2017 - has a production kitchen in Sutton Coldfield and deliver weddings and events all around the UK. The duo also launched their first pub this year

Marc said: “Winning the Wedding Industry

Award for the second year running is a big boost to our team and in many ways we’re just thankful that we still have a business to run.

“As well as helping our clients re-plan their

wedding days, we’ve been busy behind the scenes working with venue partners and we’ve recently joined with Walcot Hall as their exclusive, resident caterers. “We’ve also recently announced plans to open

our own venue called Stockton House in Shropshire and so whilst we can’t currently deliver weddings, we’ve been keeping optimistic and looking ahead to the future.” Jonathan Carter-Morris, who is also the

executive chef, said: “Our clients know that we put their plans and ideas before our profits and whilst we are in business to make a profit, for us it’s far more important to do the right thing.”
