Ardagh Group announces strategic alliance with TricorBraun WinePak
A
rdagh Group, Glass North America, a business unit of Ardagh Group has selected TricorBraun WinePak, a division of
packaging leader TricorBraun, as its exclusive wine distributor to service small and mid-sized wineries in the western half of the U.S. This renewed collaboration
reinforces TricorBraun WinePak’s position as a key member of Ardagh’s portfolio of distributors, allowing the two companies to expand and attract new business. The strategic alliance combines Ardagh’s 125 years of wine- industry knowledge and proven track record as the largest producer of glass wine bottles made 100% in the U.S., with TricorBraun’s comprehensive experience as the largest distributor of wine bottles in the U.S., creating a
dynamic combination for the U.S. wine marketplace. “For small to mid-sized wineries,

DS Smith’s innovative box design process removes over 2 million delivery journeys
Through improved design, the sustainable packaging leader is supporting its customers to reduce emissions in their supply chains. Through a focus on circular design
and performance, DS Smith, the FTSE100 sustainable packaging leader, has today announced its innovative design process has removed 20,000 tonnes of raw material from the cycle, despite increasing overall production. This has effectively taken out the equivalent of 238 million boxes of circulation over the past year. This saving will result in a
reduction of around 32,000 tonnes of CO2e, the equivalent to removing approximately 2 million journeys from the roads in cities globally at a time when air quality, carbon emissions and congestion is under the spotlight. With the peak Christmas period

for e-commerce approaching and recent research showing that 89% of adults will continue to shop online at the same level or more post lock down, there is huge benefit to DS Smith’s customers: increased adoption of this technology will support their work to reduce emissions in their supply chains. Meanwhile, the enhanced manufacturing processes ensures the efficiency of material to create performance optimised boxes across its total packaging production of 17 billion boxes. With up to 50 touch-points in
the traditional e-commerce supply chain, performance remains a critical consideration. Through DS Smith’s patented DISCS™ technology – which replicates the drops, impacts, shocks, crushes and shakes of a journey – the optimised boxes
enhanced custom packaging design and engineering services and robust customer service support. “TricorBraun WinePak’s extensive
