Cynhaliwyd pwyllgor gwaith y Sir drwy gyfrwng Zoom ar ddechrau mis Awst, gyda nifer dda iawn weditroi mewn. Croesawyd Gareth


Jones, Rheolwr Rhanbartholy Bwrdd Gwlân, (gweler ar y dde), ynghyd a Huw Evans, cynrychiolydd gogledd Cymru ar y Bwrdd, ac Emlyn Roberts, cynrychiolydd Meirionnydd. Cafwyd cyflwyniad llawn am sefyllfa’r sector, gan gyfeirio yn gyntaf at effaith Covid‐19 ar y farchnad wlân, ac yn arbennig lleihad yn y galw o Tsieina am wlân. Amlinellwyd hefyd


effaith y cyfnod clo ar y farchnad wlân yn y Deyrnas Unedig. Yn y drafodaeth, pwysleisiwyd rhinweddau gwlân feldeunydd naturiol, a bod angen mwy o ymgyrchoedd marchnata effeithiola chynhwysfawr. Diolchwyd yn fawr iawn i’r ddirprwyaeth am ymuno gyda ni. Yna aethpwyd ymlaen igroesawu’r Cynghorydd


Dyfrig Siencyn, arweinydd Cyngor Gwynedd, a oedd wediymuno gyda niisôn am y grantiau y mae Cyngor Gwynedd wedidosbarthu/gweinyddu. Yna aeth ymlaen isôn am y feirws a’ieffaith, a’r peryglon mawr bellach o weld ton enfawr o ymwelwyr yn dod i’n hardaloedd. Aeth ymlaen isôn am sefyllfa’r Cyngor gyda chyllid, a phryder difrifolam y rhagolygon. Cyfeiriodd hefyd at eiwaith felCadeirydd y Fforwm


Wledig, a oedd yn cynrychioli9 o awdurdodau lleol Cymru ‐ ac a oedd yn gorff lobio sylweddol. Diolchwyd yn fawr iawn iDyfrig am droimewn, ac am eigyswllt parhaolgyda’r Undeb. Yn olaf, croesawyd Gareth Parry o Brif Swyddfa’r


undeb yn Aberystwyth, ac aeth ymlaen iamlinellu ei swydd, sef igyfathrebu polisïau’r Undeb i’r aelodau, ac i’w diweddaru gyda newyddion amaeth. Soniodd am ei hollwaith gyda’r bwletinau rheolaidd sy’n caeleu danfon allan. Soniodd hefyd am farchnata gwaith yr Undeb, y wefan newydd, a’r wybodaeth arbennig a fyddaiar gaeliaelodau gyda’r cyfrinair arbennig.

Please remember that you need to notify RPWof any changes to land within 30 days of the change taking place in order to avoid penalties. AManageMy Land form needs to be submitted via RPWOnline when you:


• Buy or sellland • Rent new land in that you have the management controlof atMay 15 • The boundary of a field is changed on a permanent basis • A field is amalgamated or divided on a permanent basis • A field is being registered and mapped for the first time • The permanent feature area recorded in a field increases or decreases e.g. you put in a new track.


In addition, don’t forget that when you buy or sellland, or rent land in or give it up, you need to ensure that the land is added or removed from your CPH number accordingly, by completing aManageMy CPH form on RPW Online. If you need any assistance with any of the above please get in touch.


Dairy Contract Meeting


In August we held a virtualmeeting to discuss proposed legislation in relation to dairy contracts. A big thank you to those members who joined us, your input was invaluable in helping us put together the response from the county.

throug h Zoom at the beg inning of Aug ust,


with a very g ood turnout. We welcomed Gareth


Jones, Reg ionalManag er of theWool Board,


(p ictu red left), along with Huw Evans, NorthWales representative on the Board, and Emlyn


Roberts,Meirionnydd representative. A full


presentation was g iven on the position of the sector, with reference


firstly to the impact of Covid‐19 on the wool


market, and in particular the decline in China’s demand for wool.


The impact of the lockout period on the UK wool market was also


outlined. Discussion

comprehensive marketing campaig ns.We thanked the deleg ation very much for joining us.


We then proceeded to welcome Councillor Dyfrig


Siencyn, leader of Gwynedd Council, who joined us to talk about the g rants that Gwynedd Council has distributed/administered. He then went on to talk about the virus and its impact, and the dang ers that


accompany seeing a hug e wave of visitors coming to our areas. He went on to talk about the Council’s


position with funding , and the serious concern about future prospects. He also referred to his work as


Chairman of the Rural Forum, which represented 9 local authorities inWales ‐ which was a sig nificant


lobbying body. Dyfrig was thanked for joining us, and for his continued contact with the Union.


Finally, we welcomed Gareth Parry from the Union's Head Office in Aberystwyth, who went on to outline


his role, which is to communicate the Union’s policies to members, and to update them with ag ricultural news. He mentioned all his work with the reg ular bulletins that are being sent out. He also mentioned


the Union’s marketing work, the new website, and the members’ only information which is available with a special password.

Cynhaliwyd cyfarfod gyda ffermwyr ardalLlanfrothen ynghyd a swyddogion Cyfoeth NaturiolCymru ynghanolmis Awst idrafod difrod llifogydd ar dir amaethyddol, ac iegluro’r gwaith sydd eiangen iwella’r sefyllfa. Trafodwyd yr angen idorricanghennau a choed sy’n amharu ar lif yr Afon Croesor, yr angen igryfhau cloddiau, a rhoisylw brys i ffosydd o fewn yr ArdalDraenioMewnol. Cafwyd cyfle hefyd iymweld a thrafod gwaith sydd eiangen ar yr Afon


Ddwyryd. Rydym yn diolch ibawb am eu cydweithrediad yn trefnu’r ymweliadau a bydd y gwaith yn parhau o fonitro’r datblygiadau, gan fod hyn o bwysigrwydd mawr iamaethyddiaeth yn yr ardaloedd yma yng NgogleddMeirionnydd.


Mid‐Aug ust a meeting was held between farmers from the Llanfrothen area and Natural ResourcesWales officials to discuss flood damag e to ag ricultural land, and to explain the work needed to improve the


situation. The need to cut branches and trees that interfere with the flow of the Afon Croesor, the need to streng then hedg erows, and


urg ent attention to ditches within the IDD were discussed. There was also an opportunity to visit and discuss the work needed on Afon Dwyryd.We thank everyone for their co‐operation in arrang ing the


visits and work will continue to monitor the developments, as this is of g reat importance to ag riculture in these areas of NorthMeirionnydd.
