Introducing the Tramshed Project: A New Culture Venue, Workspace
& Restaurant Concept for London. The Tramshed Project is a new membership-free destination for coworking, eating and learning in the heart of Shoreditch.
Open to everyone, it builds on the spirit of community fostered during the pandemic to bring people together, safely, at a time of uncertainty. Featuring a modern workspace, kitchens serving a diverse range of food from around the world, and a 2,000 square foot basement gallery which will play host to an impressive line-up of curated events, residencies, talks and workshops, the project offers guests a home away from home for the new socially-distant era.
The Tramshed Project is a collaboration between pioneering entrepreneur Dominic Cools-Lartigue – renowned for creating much-loved, vibrant dining spaces in the capital – and some of London’s most revered names in the worlds of food, drink and entertainment. These experts include Zoe Adjonyoh, James Cochran, Andrew Clarke and Daniel Watkins, who’ll all be working together under one roof in the iconic Grade II listed building. Aware that venues need to adapt in order to thrive and not just survive in the current climate, the team at The Tramshed Project have worked hard to ensure the space’s offering is multifaceted and ever-evolving, as well as always safe and Covid-complient.
Kitchens The Tramshed Project’s kitchens will be open all day throughout the week and on weekends, serving special menus from some of the country’s most exciting chefs and restaurateurs. Zoe Adjonyoh – TV personality and author of the highly successful book Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen – has devised a menu of Ghanaian cuisine inspired by traditional recipes and featuring incredible flavours

and ingredients from across West Africa. James Cochran – Owner and Head Chef at 12:51 and Great British Menu ‘Champion of Champions’ – will be on- site serving a delicious selection of fried, jerk-infused treats, and there’ll also be a mouth-watering menu of smoked meats and plant-based dishes from renowned chefs Andrew Clarke and Daniel Watkins. All of these menus can be enjoyed in The Tramshed Project’s main Hall, a giant dining space with seating for up to 120 people whilst practicing social distancing. The Hall will be decorated with artwork from the Zabludowicz Collection – the largest collection of art in Europe and The Tramshed Project’s official art partner.
Programming The Tramshed Project has numerous event spaces, making it the perfect venue for all kinds of occasions. Upstairs, the building’s picturesque Library is a hidden gem. With seated space for up to 40 people around a kitchen counter, it will play host to food and drink pairing events and collaborative dinners and takeovers with celebrated chefs. Downstairs, the Basement Gallery is a blank canvas, set to host the venue’s exhibitions, workshops and panel discussions.
Programming launches with a weekly Friday night jazz and dinner club – Black Flamingo. Inspired by the iconic and first British Black magazine of the 60’s, Flamingo, Black Flamingo will be a new hub of Black culture, cuisine, business and education in London.
The Tramshed Project will also host a food and cultural festival for Black History Month, 23rd-25th October, that will feature talks, documentary screenings, supper clubs, live music and more. Further programming details will be revealed soon.
Peace of mind The Tramshed Project has been designed with Covid-19 guidelines and social distancing firmly in mind, with many measures being put in place in order to keep guests and staff as safe as possible. These include:
• Barriers/screens between workstations and dining booths;
• A one way system across the whole venue for customers and staff;
• Adequate distance between all tables; • Strict capacity limits in each room;
• Hand sanitising stations across the venue;
• Certificated Covid-19 safety training for all staff who will all wear face masks.
