Affordable Living Meets Southwest Market Demand

The NRP Group LLC is conducting a virtual groundbreaking for their newest development, The Scott at Medio Creek. The Scott is a $58M affordable multifamily community located at 9130 Excellence Drive in San Antonio’s Southwest side. This 324-unit community offers a variety of housing options appealing to young professionals and families who are our everyday heroes: retail workers, service and hospitality work- ers and those working at Lackland AFB. With single bedrooms starting at affordable rates, some floor plans include three and four bedrooms, which is what the market demands.

The Scott provides housing for the individuals and families earning 30-70% of the area median income at reduced rents. With 180 combined 3 and 4 bed- room units available, families can find a great home on the southwest side of San Antonio. The afford-

ability coupled with the fact that the property is located next to Medio Creek Elementary, and within 0.6 miles of Traders Village, Lackland AFB, Toyota Manufacturing and other establishments make it exceptionally appealing. Amenities at The Scott include a pool, fitness, laundry and business centers, a community garden and outdoor patios. In addition, residents can enjoy services such as after school programs for children, educational programs, financial literacy programs, health and wellness screenings, informative newsletters, and first-time home buyer programs. Pre-leasing options will be available within the coming months.

Adriana Rocha Garcia, District 4 City Councilwoman shares her excitement for the groundbreaking, “The Scott at Medio Creek is a welcome addition to the community, which includes a workforce composed of everyday working heroes. The Scott will have a lot to offer and will bring a sense of pride to those who call it home.” “This urban design provides much needed affordable hous- ing options in an area that has a strong need for it. We have risen to the challenge and are working closely with the SAHA to pro- vide a quality urban development the market demands,” said Jason Arechiga, SVP of Development, The NRP Group LLC adds.

With a commitment to continued growth in the San Antonio area, The Scott at Medio Creek is one of a number of communities The NRP Group and the San Antonio Housing Authority (SAHA) have put forward. President and CEO of SAHA, David Nisivoccia, shares “The importance of affordable housing is crucial to meeting the needs of the working families, seniors and individuals in our city. In addition, The Scott will provide a number of services including after school pro- grams, financial literacy and workforce training to elevate families to greater prosperity, ensuring a thriving community.”

The NRP Group, in partnership with SAHA, looks forward to hosting their first virtual groundbreaking.
