A Customized Response to the Pandemic

ENGINEERING CHANT

delivers new product at a critical time.

BY: MIKE CHALMERS

In eras past, manufacturers across the U.S. have had to adapt their operational processes, even products, in order to service the greater good. Perhaps the most notable example would be World War II, when factories in the United States, which up to that point had been turning out automobiles, large and small appliances, and children’s toys, pivoted at the behest of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s War Production Board and began producing weapons and military equipment for the fight.

Fast forward to 2020, and as the U.S., along with the world, finds itself in the grip of a different fight, with an altogether different enemy—COVID 19—various innovators across myriad industries have adapted similarly in an effort to assist both the citizenry as well as the many front-line workers who are exposed to the virus on a daily basis. Enter Chant Engineering Co. Inc.—a global,

calibrates testing machines, systems, and related accessories for worldwide industrial and military customers. Back in May of this year, in response to one of the key challenges many Americans were facing as COVID spread—the shortage of N95 masks and PPE in the supply chain—Chant introduced Te 5 minute Portable PPE Mask Sanitizer, a low-cost portable unit designed to quickly sanitize masks in just five minutes and extend the life of a mask by up to ten times—dramatically reducing both costs and waste.
