Figure 9 above: Individual Session Sponsorship

Perfect - 3D Division and myself on July 7. The purpose of this presentation was to have Don demonstrate some of the many the features of the 3D environment and share his personal experiences with and insights on use of the platform. Additionally, I shared with viewers the events leading up to the decision to go virtual in 2020, highlighting Member survey results, anticipated attendance, booth design and event fees. The second webinar, held on July

14, was (or “will be”, depending on when you are reading this article) conducted by CONVENEexpo, the virtual platform developer and service provider.

website. Since the Technical Conference and Expo is a public event, Membership is not required to take advantage of this offering.

This session is designed to ensure that viewers are prepared to get the most out of our virtual event. The demonstration takes attendees through all of the features available to them. Both webinars can be viewed live as well as on demand from the Institute’s

A Word of Encouragement The Investment Casting Institute exists to serve the industry, and it is our belief that in these uncertain times, the best way that we can help you, your suppliers and your customers is to do everything that we can to ensure a successful event. I know that there is a natural aversion towards “new” things. The fact is that virtual events have been around for over 20 years, but were not universally used until the COVID-19 pandemic made them a necessity. It wasn’t six months ago that many

of us could not conceive of running our businesses in the virtual world, yet many of us have successfully telecommuted, benefitting from today’s technology

to the point that many believe that

a new norm has been born out of the pandemic. Though it is my ardent hope that next year’s World Conference will be conducted conventionally, we will be fully prepared to run the event virtually or as a hybrid conventional-virtual event if the world situation dictates it. I encourage you to not only

take advantage of this tremendous commercial opportunity, but to also learn from this event, should the need arise to go virtual next year. The time to change is upon us. Together, we can set new records, for event attendance, company sales and customer satisfaction in a period of decline. Help us help you by attending this year’s event as a delegate or an exhibitor. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at (201)573-9770.
