Coronavirus Community Assistance Operation Good Neighbour Hoveton & Wroxham is continuing to provide vital assistance to local residents with no other means of support. The scheme has expanded to include a ‘phone friend’ service and it has produced and distributed a leaflet highlighting assistance available and delivery services operating for local residents. Operation Good Neighbour is run by the Wroxham & Hoveton Good Neighbours Scheme (part of Community Action Norfolk), supported by the local Church, local Councillors for Wroxham and Hoveton, and the Parish Councils of Hoveton and Wroxham.

Need a friendly voice or a listening ear? Whether you are isolating at home alone or in a busy household, it can be good to talk. If you would appreciate a phone call from one of the Operation Good Neighbour volunteers, either on a regular basis or just as a one-off, you can get in touch with the scheme by ringing Clare on 07341 873375 or Tracy on 01603 784651, or by completing the form on the scheme’s website (http://goodneighbour.wroxhambenefice.org). Please call Clare or Tracy if you are in urgent need of a food delivery.

Granary Staithe Update Following a complaint being received by North Norfolk District Council about groups of people congregating on the Staithe to eat food during the Coronavirus lockdown, your Parish Council agreed to temporarily remove the Staithe’s picnic tables from use. We apologise for any short-term inconvenience this may cause. At the time of writing, Granary Staithe is closed for the safety of members of the public due to specialist drainage works taking place on the adjacent land owned by the Broads Centre. These works are a precursor to the planned refurbishment of the Broads Centre shopping precinct, which we have been advised is still due to take place.

New Live Chat Services Two new free live chat facilities are now available to those seeking support from online resources. The Pandora Project (visit www.pandoraproject.org.uk), which offers advice, support and information to adults and children who are affected by domestic abuse, working across West and North Norfolk, have launched a new online live chat service to support the victims of domestic abuse. The service is currently available Monday to Friday, 1pm to 3pm, with three operators working simultaneously to offer advice and support around domestic abuse issues.

Meanwhile, Victim Support launched its new Live Chat service on the 24th April 2020. This

24/7 online support service will be available to all victims of crime in England and Wales. It will meet the support needs for all victims of crime, such as those impacted by hate crime, scams and fraud, and domestic abuse. For more details, see: www.victimsupport.org.uk/help- and-support/get-help/support-near-you/live-chat.
