WROXHAM AND HOVETON LIONS CLUB At the moment the club is not meeting but doing everything by Email and Telephone.
We have made a number of donations to good causes during this awful time with Covid 19. These were to Age Concern, Norfolk Community Foundation, Air Ambulance and the Neo Natal Unit at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, We also joined with other Lions Clubs in our District in making a donation to the James Padget Hospital, towards the purchase of a piece of equipment which will test to make sure there is no leakage on the face masks used by the Doctors and Nurses on the front line.
Our charity shop in the precinct at Hoveton is still closed for the foreseeable future, but we will issue an update when we know further.
Following the latest Government review of the Covid19 measures, the Club has carefully considered the ongoing implications. Obviously the safety of both the members, most of whom are in the “at risk”group and the general public at large is paramount and with this and other factors in mind, it is with much regret that we have decided to cancel this year’s Fete. This decision has not been taken lightly and we are sorry for any disappointment. However we will be looking at planning the 2021 event, booked for 1st August, as soon as we can.
As we are coming to the end of our Lionistic year, this will be my last report before I hand the reigns over to Lion Mick Holden on July 1st. Here’s hoping he has a good year.
In the mean time Stay Safe Stay Well. Lion President Terry Vout
HORNING BRIDGE CLUB The club will not be meeting until further notice due to the current social distancing rules.
