Some of you may know the NNDC Local Coordination Centre (LCC) that was based in Hoveton Village Hall has now closed, having served its initial purpose of supporting voluntary and other activity support groups deliver help to many local residents coping with the shock and practical impact of the Lockdown. It’s also helpful that so many food shops have started, or expanded, home delivery services. The voluntary and other support groups are still there if needed. If you are aware of anyone who may not be supported or is struggling to cope then please contact the next nearest LCC at Stalham via
stalham.lcc@north-
norfolk.gov.uk or the Wroxham & Hoveton Good Neighbour Scheme on 07501 362793 or Operation Good Neighbour on
hovetonwroxham.goodneighbour@
gmail.com or 07950 320461. Thanks are owed to all those volunteers operating such schemes and also to the many other clubs, activity or next door/across the road groups that are informally contacting people to ensure their shopping, medication and general wellbeing needs are met - that’s really good to see. However, there may still be those, most hard to reach, that are struggling silently and out of sight – please alert any of the above contacts, or me, if you suspect someone isn’t supported. Finally, my thanks to the many who have registered as volunteers or acting as coordinators for the various national and local help schemes such as the NHS/RVS Goodsam and the local Good Neighbour Schemes. Although many may not have been called on yet they may well do as the Covid19 restrictions are likely to run for the long term.

HOVETON PARISH COUNCIL Parish Council Meetings Hoveton Parish Council last met as a full Council on Monday 2nd
March
2020. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it wasn’t possible for your Parish Council to meet as scheduled on Monday 4th
May 2020. However,
in order to keep local residents updated on the work the Parish Council is doing, our Clerk has drafted a second Record of Decisions & Actions taken by the Council in accordance with our approved Coronavirus Contingency & Action Plan. This is available on our website or on request from the Parish Clerk (
clerk@hoveton-pc.org.uk or 07572 349600).
In accordance with new regulations issued by the Government, Hoveton Parish Council has now decided to cancel this year’s annual parish council meeting (with all current appointments such as that of Chairman and Vice-Chairman continuing until the next annual parish council meeting in May 2021) and to cancel the 2020 annual parish meeting. At the time of writing, your Parish Council is exploring the possibility of holding remote (virtual) parish council meetings, which will be open to members of the public. It is hoped it will be possible for the Council to hold its first remote meeting in early June, using Zoom. The date and time of this meeting are still to be confirmed, but three clear days’ notice of all parish council meetings will continue to be provided to residents via the Council’s website and Facebook page.
