Founded in 1990, the Chorale is a community vocal ensemble comprised of individuals who enjoy singing and working together. Based in the LGBT community of Long Beach, SCC is proud to be a diverse ensemble that encompasses friends, families and supporters, all of whom are dedicated to building bridges between commu- nities by using music to remind us all that we are more alike than different. BAYARD RUSTIN CIVILRIGHTS HONORS
Bayard Rustin was a gay civil-rights icon best
known for his work as adviser to Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1950s and ‘60s. He also was the main organizer of the March on Washington in 1963. In 2013, President Barack Obama posthu- mously awarded Rustin the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest award in the United States. Every year, the Imperial Court de San Diego recognizes the contributions of community leaders who reflect Rustin’s legacy of activism and service. This year’s Lifetime Achievement Award goes to Earnest McCray. Community Honorees areDamon Shearer andChristina Griffin-Jones. The 2020 Community Ally Award goes to Valencia Park Malcolm X Library. The ceremony takes place at the San Diego LGBT Community Center on Friday, March 13 and will include a silent auction and a soul food buffet. Proceeds will benefit the National Bayard Rustin Stamp Campaign.

Project Angel Food cooks and delivers over 600,000 nutritious meals each year, free of charge, to the homes of men, women and children affected by life-threatening illnesses throughout Los Angeles County. Created in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic, the organiza- tion expanded their mission in 2004 to help those who are struggling with the multiple challenges of hunger, isolation and their critical illness.

Join your fellow LGBTQ sports fans at the Tailgate Party happy hour taking place in Park at the Park. Then, take your seat with the group and watch the San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus, San Diego Women’s Chorus and San Diego Pride and Padres staff perform the national anthem together on the field. OUT at the Park ticket purchase includes a seat in the official OUT at the Park section, a commemorative OUT at the Park Padres hat, $5 donation to San Diego Pride, and access to the pre-game celebration (food and drinks not included).
