IAFE Convention From the Executive Director

Hello Everyone! I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year’s

and are ready to embrace 2020. It opens great possi- bilities and we have numerous opportunities throughout the state to showcase our springtime fairs. Let’s get ready to go visit and support some great Florida fairs now through the end of April.

In December, we had the opportunity along with the Florida Farm Bureau to

visit with legislators in Tallahassee to discuss fair issues and to educate them about our industry. We had a great delegation of fair folks from across the state and we took advantage of the time we had in the capitol. The Florida Farm Bureau held its annual “Taste of Florida” reception in the capitol court- yard and again it was a great success. Thanks to Belle City Amusements we had some great fair food to share with legislators and staff.

In January, we had a great time hosting the Convention Committee and

Showcase Committee at the Manatee County Fairgrounds in Palmetto. Plans for the convention are well underway and don’t forget to register and make your hotel accommodations soon. The Florida Federation of Fairs Convention will be held May 14-16, 2020 at the World Golf Village Renaissance Hotel.

In February, the 5th Annual Fair Partners Shoot took place at Fish Hawk Sporting Clays in Balm, Florida. It has always been a great time to socialize and enjoy being together for a fun day of shooting. A big thank you to Kathy Ross and the NICA folks as well as all of the sponsors who made the shoot a great success.

Last, but not least, get out and visit some member fairs and say hello to our associate members as well. Thanks and have a great spring time!

Dn l Westaie
