BREEAM AWARDS PREVIEW BREEAM Awards 2020

ADF previews the shortlisted entries for the BREEAM Awards which presents the best in international construction sustainability, and features a new ‘personal’ award for 2020

BREEAM rated buildings from around the world of the previous 12 months.” Award categories include different regions around the world, project types, and professional recognition, as well as partnership awards with GRESB, the benchmarking system for real estate assets. This year however will see the introduction of the new ‘Director’s Award’. This will be made to an individual “who deserves to be recognised for their achievements and leadership in BREEAM,” and will be chosen by BREEAM director, Shamir Ghumra. The 2020 awards will also see the return of the popular ‘Your BREEAM Award,’ where the public have the opportunity to vote for their favourite building from the shortlist. The awards evening itself will be held on the eve of Futurebuild – 2 March – at Hilton London Bankside Hotel, and will be hosted by Brian Blessed OBE, one of Britain’s most famous stage and screen actors. As the longest standing and most widely operated built environment sustainability assessment method, the BREEAM Awards represent “a celebration of built environment sustainability from across the world.”
