YOUNG ARTISTS AND PERFORMERS ENTERTAIN GREENWICH MARKET

ver the course of a weekend in July, AGFS student artists and performers entertained and impressed an audience from around the world at the famous


London tourist spot, Greenwich Market.


An exhibition of artwork from across the Year groups and Key Stages was presented in the old ‘This is London’ store, the blank canvas of a space being turned into a professional ‘salon-style’ exhibition of drawing, painting, printmaking, photography and 3-D pieces.


Open for two days, visitors included plenty of students, parents and staff along with an international crowd, often asking who the artists were and being surprised to hear that it was work of a local secondary school.


On the Sunday afternoon, keen shoppers and foodies visiting the market were treated to live performances of the Summer musical, with songs from Mary Poppins, The Lion King and Oliver, with many shoppers singing along with the student performers.


This was a great opportunity for the performing and visual student artists to showcase their talents within a public space and one which will hopefully seem them be involved in future opportunities to do so and further inspire them to follow a career within the arts.


Well done to all performers and artists involved in the event, along with the hard work and support of the drama, art and premises departments in making this fantastic opportunity happen.
